Colton smiles, "thank you, Sparrow. But, I LIKE serving. It feels like I have purpose. And you're a good liege. You lilsten to my opinions and everything. "As if that was new and revolutionary

Coradel gives Sparrow and her charge a thoughtful look, then nods to Magnus. "Well, as long as she knows she's welcome. She's not wrong about making connections."

"Hmph. I'd like to show that Rose a piece of m mind..."

"She's an Ailil, she's not wrong about anything, just ask her. " Magnus puts on a more chipper face

August clears his throat, straightening from his lean-on-the-counter.

"Magnus, please do let her know she was missed here tonight, when you see her next." He says quietly. "And... everyone...."

He lifts his glass. "To those who are here, thank you. For being my family. And for being here. I'm thankful you are part of my life."

Coradel smiles and raises her teacup. "For our family. And our family's friends." A nod to Colton.

She raises her mug. "To finding new homes."

"And good people" Colton nods

"And the joys they bring" Magnus says

August sips, completing the toast, and waits for the others to do the same.

Clinks against her neighbors and sips.

Also drinks, looking at August.

He catches Coradel's eyes and holds them for a moment.

A smile to him, and then in general to the room. "Well, I hope you will all be able to attend my Saining next month."

Magnus grins "Wouldn't miss it." /"Congratulationes, Miss." Colton says

"Of course! It's a big deal!"

"Thank you, squire."

A flurry of conflicting emotions flood August's face but he manages to cram them behind a mask of calm. "Of course." Softly.

Colton seems to enjoy the use of his title now that he has a liege.

A glance at Magnus.

Magnus glances back at August and shrugs.

"It'll work out, Aug."

"I don't think our friend is going to learn her name and suddenly despise us."

He nods back at Magnus.

"Actually.... of course, if you wish me to be there.... and if I'm able to be there."

"I'm leaving for a bit, on a quest."

She looks from Deryn to August. 'You're...what?"

"In point of fact, he and I are both going so we'll look after each other" Magnus assures.

"Yes." He nods agreement with Magnus.

"What quest? You didn't mention this before."

A tone of careful curiosity.

"I think I did." Respectfully. "I said I wanted to find a way to get the Baron more time, preferably without great pain. I may have found that way."

"I...didn't realize you had discovered something. Well." She nods. "What is it?"

Sip. "The Candlestick Maker. He might be able to help."

"Butcher, baker, candlestick maker. I wonder what other rhymes mask beings of power in the dreaming? Maybe there are three men in a tub who are actually an assassin's guild?" Magnus muses.

"Do you think it's a good chance that he'll be able to?"

August puffs a small chuckle at Magnus, and then nods to Coradel. "I think so. Rover Olgar suggested it, gave me directions. We've asked Zara and Earl along as well."

"You'll need protection, leading up to your saining? Me and Colton, we can be on call..."

"I thought Olgar didn't like your Baron?" A raised brow from Colton, then a nod to his liege.

An eyebrow at the mention of the sluagh.

"Thank you, Deryn, that would be a great help." To her offer regarding Coradel.

An eyebrow matching Deryn's. "I see. Well...may you have a fine quest with them."

"That sluagh is a witch. Witches can be useful on quest..."

"I can take care of myself, but I do appreciate the extra eyes." To Deryn.

Sip.
