"My creator is of House Eiluned, a house that does not always share. Though he is gone, the House might make claim. The balefire is fallen, not in a hold, lost in the near dreaming, so not quite ready gone cold. Others seek it took, and when Imbolc rises... this old bale lantern finally expires."

The old man hisses quietly as the cantrip expires. He turns to Bertrand.

"well sir?"

"The mirror was created by an Eiluned Lord, so probably Sidhe. The Balefire it shows is lost in the Near Dreaming, and by Imbloc... it will expire. The mirror can allow one to track it."

The teenager looks wobbly "Well, so I could just use this, follow it, and get myself a bale? Just like that?" A raised brow "Pardon sir, my pappy always said keep your brains on when something seems too good to be true."

He nods. "Your pappy sounds like a wise man. No, it would be a quest, and all quests have threats and dangers."

He paces considering this.

"If I read between the lines correctly, others are actively seeking, or would be actively seeking, the same Balefire."

"Shoot. Shoot shoot." He paces, "I don't know if I need a balefire, on the other hand, everyone does. You knnow? Maybe if I knew who else was seeking it, it'be okay to let them get it but... darn it. I don't know. I mean, I could show it to Chieftain Brekke maybe, see if there's another spot that would make a good second old for Rivervale ... that'd impress Sylvi." Pace pace

He gropes for a chair back and lowers himself to sit. "Ah-ha. I see." a bit sourly.

"Well sir, I couldn't possibly manage my own. I mean, I'm a wilder but...where would I put the flame? "

"An excellent question. I believe, in most stories I've heard, the Dreaming provides. There is probably some nook or cranny that you could avail yourself of."

"Maybe sir, but I am not sure I'm ready to be tied down.."

(Pause Scene)

The boggan coughs. "Indeed, well. I'm sure I understand your concern. I do."

He paces "Weell, furk." A sigh "pardon sir. Been cursing more sicne I went wilder."

"If you would rather, perhaps you could keep it for your family? The LeRoys certainly need a home with some power to it." He chuckles. "Oh, nockers are well-known to me. No need to be concerned."

"I should look after em I suppose, but you can't just turn any old home into a freehold even if you have balefire. I know that"

"And I understand your whole clan is uprooted?"

"Well, not no more, we've pretty much moved into Kansas City."

"But some of us are in other spots, of course"

"Then perhaps somewhere.... " He stops and sighs. "... in the area?"

And glances at the clock.

"Well, sir if you have an idea.."

"I would be happy to undertake a search for something suitable. After all, the quest is not even launched."

And the door swings open CC comes in with two full shopping bags, "the huntress has returned from the Savannah, many gazelle are missing and..oh" She stops, "Hello, Bertrand"

"Ma'am" he says

A tight smile as he rises. "Hello Miss CC..." He goes to get her bags. "Bertrand has found quite a thing and you should really hear the story. Do sit down. I'll get drinks." He bustles off with the bags.

CC raises a brow, "Now I'm curious." And sits.

Essentially the nockeer lad fills her in.

He bustles back.

He smiles brightly.... maybe brittlely.... at CC and goes to the bar cart. "Preference?"

"Martini I think, but make it a double"

"At least." Muttered, and he does. Two.

"Bertrand, you are sufficiently fortified?"

"Hot coco's fine with me, sir. I am sorry if this is trouble?" He says

CC assures him "it's fine, " And eyes the mirror curiously having kenned it herself

"Not at all!" He checks the level on the nocker's drink, and makes more if needed.

About half way

He makes more.

And delivers martinis.

"Thanks sweetie" CC sips, "So did you two get any ideas?"

"We did."

"Love to hear them, I am curious" She says

the nocker looks to the boggan to let him go over it.

"Well. He could give it over for a reward. He could keep it for his family." The gent checks with Bertrand. "Yes?"

"Yes, but I got no place to build a hold. It has to be special..so Not sure that would work"

"Or." Emerson glances at CC as Bertrand drink "Somewhere else."
