The club is currently closed. there's not even much of a cleaning staff going. Yet Emerson hears voices from his office... is that the sound of CC crying? Suddenly paperwork doesn't seem as important

Alarms ringing, he arms himself as he rushes back towards the office, pausing to listen just at the door.

Yup! Crying, two women, one of them is CC, he knows that sound.

"It's okay, it's okay... " CC appears to be saying, "This is not your fault."

He fights his instinct, his -need-, and waits, listening.

"but it is," Another voice, "I've really screwed myself over...and I can't understand how nice you're being to me. I ..my dad. He was a beast."

"Okay, the coin thing is..." A sniff "Weird, but you are not your dad. Heck, you've probably had past lives where you were on different continents. " CC assures.

He is now sure of it. The voice is familiar, and 'coin'? 'dad'?

"I can't barely face you, I thought you'd hate me" Magdalene yes, it's her, "I mean, I really really hate myself. The whore that I become... she doesn't listen to anyone. I've nearly lost parts because of her."

He eases back, considering things..... he puts away his weapon, and slips away to the kitchen. Working alone, he's back quickly with a tray, three full mugs on it.

OOC Door open or shut?

A crack, and easily pushed open.

(He suspects CC left it so on purpose)

He balances the tray and taps lightly.

"Who?" Magdalene starts inside

"Relax, a very specical friend of mine. You hexed him with weird vehicle coincidences?"

He waits.... then smiles to himself.

That last CC who adds "Come in"

Ah, so that's the play. He pushes the door open and bustles in, the jolly boggan waiter.

"Well, he spooked me out, I felt like I was being followed and ..well, it wasn't a hex, it was a treasure that caused things to be unlikely and...it's used up and... well, I am mortified" the very seelie girl says as Emerson comes in.

"Hot cocoa?" He offers to CC and Magdalene.

"Thank you, dear," CC says taking it, "Magdalene, this is Emerson ... my business partner, lover, and sugar daddy."

Magdalene takes her cocoa and nearly spits it out at CC's timing of the word sugar daddy, "you did that on purpose" She accuses the older satyress

"Little bit," CC smiles.

He takes the third mug and sets the tray aside. "A pleasure to see you again, Miss Magdalene." Pleasantly.

"i'm somewhat supriised you feel that way, sir," She says, and looks at CC "Sugar daddy? Isn't that a bit....dishonorable?"

He chuckles.

CC smirks,"Depends on how you look at it. Your father took everything in the Unseelie code and made it dark because he was bitter, hateful and dark. Not all Unseelie are like that, I suspect not even you. Your 'other side' seems mostly to resent authority, but not just for herself, but for other people. Wanting folks to be free is not such a horrible thing." A nod to Emerson, "As for my...sugar daddy here, well, I won't lie, my usneelie side purrs a bit, but even as a Seelie, and I am often on the cusp, I don't see anything dishonorable about it. I'll leave it to Emerson to say whether he feels unpleasantly used or if I don't support him in other areas." A wink

"Only unpleasantly used by special request, my dear." He says smoothly with a wicked twinkle.

"We are well matched, I think."

CC's eyes make a promise over the rim of her mug "Oh yes, We are."

He smiles back to her, promise accepted, and turns to Magdalene. "And, no; Unseelie is not, necessarily, Evil. I have seen Seelie do despicable things."

"Such as?" Magdalene says, dubious.

CC bites her lip, "Careful, he might just tell you. Up to you, Emerson dear."

He sips, considering his answer. "Our people, Fae, going about their daily lives. No crime against the Escheat, indeed, no crime by mortal standards either.... armed nobles attacking, destroying lives and livelihoods because some of those Fae are Unseelie."

"There is a place in Feathered Serpent where to be Unseelie is to be required to take an odious oath to the Seelie lord, or be banished."

"So much for Right to Live and Right of Rescue, Hm?"

"For that matter, on a daily basis, the Unseelie among us face a certain amount of discrimination just for being Unseelie. They are suspect, watched, tested."

"well, yes but Unseelie are the most likely to ravage... most likely to break rules" the younger satyress bites her bottom lip

"Assuming guilt of what folks might do soon becomes an excuse to tyranize them," Cc says

"Hear hear." Mildly.

"It can become a vicious cycle. The Unseelie are most likely to ravage and break our Seelie rules, so we must put them away, set them outside.... where they are forced to ravage and break rules in order to survive this cold world.... thus proving the Seelie-Haves correct."

"Seelie Haves? but I'm seelie...about half the time, and I don't have much"

still, Magdalene looks troubled at their comments

He smiles gently. "The Seelie Court controls most of our society and resources."

"wait, you're not Seelie? but you're a boggan?" She stares at Emerson.

CC has to hide a smile behind her mug

"I did not say I was not Seelie." Sip. "My adventures have introduced me to a broad spectrum of our people. Albeit, some of them briefly."
