The boggan is frowning faintly.

"Now don't look at me that way sir, you know there are some what would say a hold is priceless"

"A Freehold -is- priceless." Firmly. "I'm just... having a moment." The last muttered. "Hmmph."

"Well, sir... you're making me feel guilty."

CC puts a hand on hisarm and shoots him a dazzling look, "Young man, that's now his intent. It's just, we ddint' ASK for this, then it sounds like it might help your family to have it nearby- just because our place is perfect doesn't mean...well, it seems almost like you're ..." A concerned look "Taking advantage of us?"

At that he is mortified "No ma'am. I honestly didn't think of it until just now. Honest possum."

He glances at CC, and takes a long drink. "Hmmmmm....." Thoughtful.

"It is an interesting notion. I simply wonder if there aren't others in greater need."

"Probably, sir. I just not sure if they have the place to go with the need" He shrugs

He drums his fingers on the armrest. "I could... nose about."

"After all, knowing about the Balefire is not the same thing as -having- the Balefire. We might be putting the cart before the horse."

"yes sir, I suppose... I'd appreciate if you learn of any alternatives ...but I also worry if we don't get it before Imbolc well...that'll be all she wrote."

"I strongly believe that is the case, yes." He glances a question at CC.

"I think we should help him," A look to EBG back to her bobby woggy woo woo. "Don't you, dearest?"

A sigh. "Oh, certainly." Resigned.

"Thank you, thank you both" He says

He levels a gaze and a finger at the boy. "-You- are responsible fully for -retrieving- the Flame."

"But I think we can get you a little dross and , as Emerson said, we'll find some answers for you on how to help"

"me? on a quest?" The boy says "I..." Aset to his jaw "Furk sure. Okay."

"To quest for the 'Fire, and once the Balefire is captured." Firmly.

"I'll do that" He nods , trying to show his surety then "Can I get help? I've not really quested much."

"Of course." dry "That is part of questing, I believe."

"Right, you assemble a team or somethin, or at least get a ..." A pause, "Thank you."

The wilder nods

CC smiles, "Okay, in the mean time, you put up good security on that mirror. Folks might hunt it, and there could be fall out."

"That is vital. A touch of Glamour will help the possessor find it." He sips. "Be especially wary of House Eiluned. They will want it back."

He swallows "right. Watch out for Eiluned." Nervous

Another long sip.

"And other nobles might feel obliged to inform Eiluned of it. Some of them are very honorable, but kind of ...packish?" She says

The wilder groans. "That narrows it down"

He clears his throat, sips again.

"I'm sorry hun, did you have a lot of noble friends? " A pat pat, "I don't mean to insult, just... you know, you might put some o the good ones in a spot sso be sure."

"Yes ma'am, thank you." And "no, not hardly any really. "

"Young Master Bertrand, thank you for coming here tonight." Dryly "You have certainly made the evening more interesting."

"Uhm, could I..." aa pause and look around, then "nevermind." he shrugs

"No, please ask." Genially.

"Well, I thought maybe it would be safer here until I got my team assembled? I won't want to leave it with my family, but then I realized that might endanger you folks."

He says apologetically

With a glance at CC "I... believe that might be possible."

"We do have a few cantrips that might help hide it" A nod "It'll take a bit of work, but... no no I think we can manage" A smile

"Thank you both" He sets the mirror down, "Very much. I should go. I know some folks to ask upfront."

"Good luck." She says "Hope they say yes" CC assures "They probably will You're a fine decent young man."

He blushes "Thank you, miss. " Rising, he takes his now empty cup "Where should i put this sir? "

"Just right there." He rises to show the boy out. "I'll take care of it." He offers his hand.

"Well thank you again" The boy hands it over and tries NOT to bolt for the door, clearly wanting to get his team together. Intead he walks to it, and waves, takes a deep breath, and goes out.

CC keeps her features VERY sschooled, then after a five count "Did he start running as soon as he was on the other side of the door or did he actually make it to the gate?"
