A very contented wistful sigh indeed

He jaw opens slowly at the description... and the look on her face. He tries to speak a few times, and finally croaks, "I'm in."

"You've been in several times, dear. I hope you noticed, or I wasn't doing it right" mock nonplused

He chuckles, recovering slowly. "Dearest.... come here." He pats his lap.

She saunters over and sits in his lap, curling her legs a bit

He cradles her close. "Well. Now I just -have- to make this happen. Hm" Thinking. "Nocker, troll, satyr..... do they need a savage edge?"

"you're thinking Alexis? " She raises a brow

"Mmm." Agreeing. "Or, perhaps, one of her siblings. Or both."

"well , Alexis thinks you sold out dear . She seems to think I ruined you" Wryly "SInce I got you out of the biz. Not sure she'd help in this case"

"I'm sure she does. But a chance to hoist a Balefire? And in the Dreaming? She would at least be interested, if I know her. And I do."

"As would the others."

"What if she eats the younger wilders, takes it and runs?" Wryly

"Well, there is that chance." He agrees. "Perhaps her sister, or brother? Sluagh and pooka respectively. Or, speaking of sluagh....."

"Yes?"

"Our polite kitten?"

"mm yes, claws are coming in nicely" A nod "What of her?"

"Might she be interested? Or for that matter, is Caesar still seeing that pooka girl?"

"I don't know. I think he and she drifted a bit. He likes her a LOT but..." A frown "On the other hand, all this talk of a sidhe lady has me missing Shelia more than a little. But pooka can be tricky in the dreaming. They lie more, and trust less. Dangerous."

His expression magnifies her dislike of the Sidhe lady. "Hmmph. They can have their uses. But." A squeeze. "I think I am satisfied we have possibilities, should Bertrand's own efforts to form a questing team fall short."

"True, we'll get a back up list." A nod "I think we should appear to be ready to help more than telling this batch what to do directly, but I'm sure you kneew that"

He nods comfortably. "Of course." Agreeing.

She scootchees in his lap andl ooks back at the mirror "I wish I could judge how much balefire awaits. Might be just a little, but oh.. even small cozy place would be just wonderful. "

"I understand that, in the right circumstances, a Balefire can grow."

"Yes but we really should learn to be content past a certain point. " She says but with effort

He chuckles darkly. "Since when?" Teasing.

"New Years resolution" she blinks innocently "Which I'm sure to uphold." then a wink

"Ha!" A bark of laughter. "I see."

"Well. This evening didn't happen as I planned but... are you hungry? I was in the midst when Bertrand knocked."

"Actually, yes. I'm a bit peckish. " She scoots off, "here,I'll finish cooking dinner. You've done it so often of late."

"Oh, let's do together? I enjoy working in the kitchen with you." He stands as well, walking with her. "And after dinner, you'll show me the notions and fripperies you found?"

"Let's" she slips on an apron, one of the ones he got her as a gift, and hands him his prefered choice of kitchen wear, "And if you like." She smiles delighteldy. She adores cooking, but she definitely likes doing with him by her side.

He smiles back, and together they prepare dinner.

A very domestic ending of a scene with two harmless grump lovebirds who are never up to anything sinister- just ask them. (END SCENE)
