Another glance to the crowd, and this time she makes eye contact with Frank, and spots Siv for that matter. A nod.

Siv waves, then kisses her dad, and heads down to the field slipping on the Rivervale Tunic. Wait what?

JOnas looks to Piper "Oh dear. She got permission"

Piper blinks. “For WHAT?”

Slipping her abandoned hand into Jonas’s now.

Frank's beard does not move. At all.

Brekke watches Siv take the field.

And announcements are made for the first three matches.. None of Bergen are in this set. this is a thinning, no doubt.

Losers from last year, new bloods eager to prove themselves, and a freelancer

They line up, and are announced.

And the jousts begin for them. A chance to get used to them. ONE of the jousters? Is liable to make both any lover of horses weep! A beautiful white stallion with a short cropped mane has, well, an inept jouster on it. Oh the man knows how to joust barely, but he fights his horse instead of guiding it. And it's such a GOOD horse. it belongs under a master rider. Not Sir Condard ap Fiona or wahtever his name is. On the flip side, one commoner kith knight has an old horse, one who has seen better days and is no longer top notch if it ever was, but the Satyr (So rare, since they RUN fast) moves with more skill than a rookie should

Dagmar glowers at the Fiona.

“Bad show. He nearly hit his mount’s head with that lance showboating.!” Aiden glowers as well.

Nadeen frowns "Normally Fiona prides itself on its riders. Not so here I guess"

Brekke watches carefully...but she's also distracted. Where did Siv get to?

Why is she talking with other heralds?

Calanthe gives a small laugh. “Oh, try to enjoy the show. You’re NOT working, for once. That satyr looks like he has some spry ness left, even if he ride an old nag.”

Forunately, the Fiona is clobbered. The stallion, a true throoughbred Fae horse, looks almost dishonored at his failure to win despite the rider being the source of defeat

“He deserves better. Calanthe, see that he is approached after the match. I’ll buy that stallion, if only to take it out from under him.”

The satyress knight on the old horse pulled off a win. For now

The other matches, less interesting go unremarked

And then it's time for Dagmar!

He murmurs to Nadeen, “Did you find out the details of the earlier trouble?” Then quiets, as Dagmar comes up.

Connor howls! “Gooooooo Chickenhammer!!”

"I did. Gerd, and Connor ended up stopping a terro- " She quiets

Brekke's attention doesn't waver. Perhaps intensifies.

And a herald for the knight Dagmar is facing, a sidhe of House Eiluned, says "Lord Highever of Plumbberry Fief! Son of the House of Magic, who uses his lands in liue of wand! Victor twice over at Plumberry joust!"

Aiden blinks, and starts to ask- but then the announcement! And they turn to watch.

Dagmar nods and raises a hand in acknowledgment of her opponent.

There are cheers and then Siv comes up, and acts as HERALD for Dagmar "The Sun has yet to set on the Rivervale Dynasty! And yet, you witness a new Dawn! As another Star shares the sky of Rivervale's glorious jousting tradition! She has proven her might in melee! Now you will see how she does the Joust Justice! Ladies and Gentlekiths, I present the Hammerstrike! the Jouster who slew the steel beast! A heroine rising ! Dame Daaaaaaaaagmmmar ap Gwydion! Clash of the Storm, Horse shield and King Claimed by Love but forever bound to honor! GIVE HER a big BERGEN WELCOME!"

Star gives a strident whinny as if on cue! Surely they are praising her, she heard her name!

A hiss. "Siv!"

CHeers break out

Brekke grins slightly, and adds to the applause from the sidelines.

Siv winks "Every barony gets a herald, Dame. I volunteered for ours."

but only Dagmar can hear that

Jaymes Bellows "Dagmar!" ("That's MY daughter! have you seen my daughter? She's amazing! really. All other daughters are ifne I'm sure, but they are number 2, or lower")

Tove is, if possible, at least as embarrassing

Calanthe frowns slightly, looking bored. Aiden at least smiles slightly at the display. “She sits the mount well.”

Nadeen cheers and whistles "Go dagmar!" then blushes "I did warn folks"

Indeed - in the year Dagmar has had her, she has learned Star well. Daily rides, lots of trust and communication and work. Star is a partner, not just a mount.

the banners dip, and the joust begins!

And Star bolts forward like lightning...

And Dagmar sets her lance in the bracket, hunkering down as she closes in. The lance connects with the foe's shield! A solid crack that rocks the Eiluned and sets his blow awry - the point glancing off instead of landing.

Folks cheer,. And not just for Dagmar, for two other jousts are going on.

By the end of three rounds, Dagmar has scored more points, visibly even to those who do not know the sport well. And the poor Eilune'd armor looks like a cheeese grater in what remains of it

"The winner ... Dame Dagmar House Gwydion RIVERVALE!"

She guides Star to meet the Sidhe and offers her hand. "Good match."

Brekke spends part of that bout silently coaching Dagmar, and she applauds soundly when she takes the win!

"You humor me" the Eiluned smiles but takes her hand "You're gracious to do so. Thank you"

A grin and a firm shake.
