"But, honestly, so much went wrong for different folks i think 'simple cookie' was almost a haven" Siv says "Aunt Kerri didn't place"

"She didn't place, da," A nod of ..worry? "It's not her fault it was the ingredients had this.. oh it was funny but also I think she's going to be feeling down." And she explains about the beautiful set up, the dance.. and the.. the .. leak... "Some wags are already calling them fart tarts."

"Oh no...." Frank groans. "Is Olgar around?"

"Yeah, they're tending to each other's pride I think, though they hide it well. Kerri was gracious, o course, congratulating Tove who won, and the folks from Silverwolf who won the second place position." A pause "At least most of the wins stayed in rivervale. Honestly this Pennons has been wild in some ways"

Frank grunts agreement, as his mouth is full.

"Of course, Olgar's loss at least is to Dagmar. Lord knows how he'd take it if some sidhe wilder from another hold had got the better of him. As is, I think he's glad it was in lodge so to speak"

Frank's mouth is sampling some of the finest mix of food they had to offer. This pepperjack cheese log? Deeelicious

He swallows. "The Lodge did well. Some bruising of individual egos though. "

"True, and I know I know, Aunt Kerri's a rock, and Uncle Olgar's been through shit that would break lesser folk and he comees out spitting the ground and moving on... but they're family and we should ..i don't know, try to help them feel better however they need that?"

"Yes."

"Any ideas on how to do that for them?" Coaxing. She loves her dad, but she could get blood from a stone easier than getting answers from him some days

"Assuming they need and welcome it?"

"Asssuming that, " She nods

"It's possible that, as an Oathed couple, they can help each other without other help, Siv."

"Siiii-iiiiv!" Piper calls as she heads over, hands laden with treats. "Did you see that there's a fellow selling quiche? There was red pepper and feta, and tomato basil, and spinach and mushroom - I couldn't decide so I got a slice of each!"

"Hello, Piper." Frank nods. "Enjoying Pennons?"

"I love quiche..." She grins, and sets down the slices. "Um, Sir Franklyn, would you like to try them too? I have plenty..."

"It's been great so far. Except for the archery..." A small frown.

"Yeah" A frown "That was nasty. Going to resume soon"

"No, thank you Piper. You enjoy it. What happened?"

"Oh." She shifts her weight a little. "Sir Carowyn's string snapped. It seems odd, on account that everyone says he always takes care of his weapons, and those things are 'sposed to be checked before each round."

Siv takes this time to snitch a bit of Piper's quiche when she's not on guard.

She is not fooled and shoots Siv a grin, snagging a morsel of the same piece. Mm!

Grin. Busted. But it tastes better snitched.

"Hmph." with a frown.

"it wasn't just him though" Siv says "The wind came up at the oddest times threw a lot of good archers off"

Frank nods slowly, a mental note made.

".... and the cooking competition was off, you would say?"

"Singing wasn't my best show either..." She admits, "Though I only blame myself for that. Poor Spenser though, I was surprised. That was a rookie mistake."

"I thought you were good" Siv says loyally, but then at mention of SPencer "Spencer got the wrong word to a song. Never heard him do that before. Torin says he's got a good memory"

"And yeah, one flambe burned a judge's eyebrows.. there was something else went wrong with the cooking t oo not counting the fart tarts"

"Let's not call them that, even amongst ourselves."

"Worried we'll slip out of habit?" A sigh "Point"

"Was anyone seriously injured in any of the other combat matches?"

"Someone said maybe there was a hex - but surely the Count would know if anyone had worked magic against his event?"

"Hm. Surely."

"They have folks watching for that normally. Heck, half the events have protocals to stop killing blows or the like" Siv answers "And no, dad. So far no serious injuries beyond the melee which is supposed to have that. Colton and Dagmar gave the best show"

A bright grin, "Miss Tove! She sang a song in honor of the Hearth."
