Adam nods. "I talked to a cookie." He offers.

"See, I couldn't do that. I already try not to eat anything with a face. If I can't eat cookies, what's left to live for?"

Lucia laughs then "Primal's a good one. And more respected than Chicanery"

She chomps a fry. "This one time Zane tried to make wee Piper cry by telling me that Mr. Potato Head was real and all of my vegetables had names and families. I forget if you ever got grounded for that!" She snickers across the table at him. "I hope so, you monster."

"Yeah yeah, you couldn't take a joke..sides you gave as good as you got if I recall. Remember that time you told me that nail polish would make my horns sprout larger?"

Lucia chokes at that

She blinks, and covers up a cackle. "Wait... you didn't ACTUALLY do it, did you? Oh.... please please tell me Auntie M got pictures!"

Adam can't help but grin.

She gives Adam a grin. "When you only see each other a once or twice a year, you gotta save up the best ideas."

"I will say no more" Zane crosses his arms defiantly.

Lucia grins "Okay that's..adorable"

"What color?" He asks Zane impishly.

"Dude.. she's right here " Zane tilts his head towards the evil that is his cousin.

An innocent smile, and hands pressed together as though in angelic prayer.

Adam grins widely.

"You don't fool anybody, Piper" Zane says.

"Neither of you is fooling anyone," Lucia smiles

An affected gasp. "Et tu, Lucia? Lo, I am wounded."

Zane goes "Yeah, where's the trust?"

"It goes out the door when they see our horns." A quirky grin.

Lucia chuckles "That's it. We're' all hornophobes."

"I'm not!" Cheerfully.

"Of course you're not. Being horny goes with being a guy!" Cheeky grin.

Lucia blushes

A dramatic sigh. "You said it."

Zane nods, and says in a dramatic voice, "It is the time of the fireblood...where the demons in our veins howl hungrily."

"Okay, Zane, you really SHOULD be in theatre" Lucia says

"Nice one." Adam approves.

"Awoooooo!" She yodels, only to duck her head down a bit as one of the managers eyes the table of lingering teens. "Heh. arooo." Much quieter.

Adam laughs softly. "Very cool, Piper."

"Ahem. I think we've drawn enough attention to ourselves AND we're out of fries. Ready to go?" Lucia says

"Yeah." Adam stands "Where do you want to go?"

Piper gathers up the remnants of their fast food carnage and tosses it away before rejoining the group.

"Thanks, Piper" Lucia says "And thanks Adam, but I need to get home. Have to help my folks at the restaurant soon so I need to get dressed."

"Oh, let me know if you ever need help. Even just bussing tables. I don't work for breadcrumbs, but I would definitely consider working for garlic bread."

"Yeah, sure. No problem." Everyone buckled up, Adam drives to drop Lucia off.

"Oh you'd be paid" SHe assures, "Shame the offer wasn't on Columbus day..we were SWAMPED then"

"Anyway, I'm off." Lucia says "Adam, thanks for the lift!"

And she steps out.

"Anytime, Lucia!" He calls. As he puts the car in gear he asks "Where next?"

"PIper?" Zane defers

"I could go for a walk. I ate like four pounds of processed potato product. Or a nap, for that matter."

"You could sleepwalk and compromise" her cousin suggests

"I wouldn't want to steal your school routine."

"Heeey... " a beat "Actually that's pretty good." A grin

"She got you, man."

"Yeah, gonna need some ALoe for that burn"

"Piper, what about it? Want me to pull over and you guys can walk from here? Or do you have a walk you like?"

"Maybe we can go out by the lodge? It's nice seeing trees changing color. And it's not that cold out yet!"

"Uhhh.... yeaaahh...." Adam agrees slowly.
