With Connor taken care of. Gerd splashes some water and contemplates her own ire that she covered up with soft words and reassurances to the boy. And she goes for a walk in the woods.

"Not that I'm sure what the hell I did wrong answering your damn question" Grouse

"I said 'hey grats' suddenly I get yelled demanding how long I know like I did something wrong and...bam.. I answer her, because she seemed really upset. I get told to fuck off? For what I don't know... and I'd like to know what I did wrong so I asked what I did to deserve this and threats... but oh no, I'm wrong for warning her I'll defend myself? What the fuck? Does she expect folks just to kiss her ass or hold still for punching? Hell, DIRK doesn't even pull that shit. Damn right I will drop you into a lake rather than let you break my jaw because you're in some mood." a deep breath. Breath "Okay. Now stop ..Sylvi's not stupid, and she maybe saw more. And Dagmar is... scowly to begin with. Let's think..damn it old man, I need that wisdom again."

A groan, "And Sylvi gave an order and I actually obeyed. That's insult to injury. Not living that one down."

"Maybe I should go back, suck in my pride, and try to make peace . Not sure I can apologize to her without setting of the Gwyddar though"

A frown "But on the other hand, if she's becoming a geniune danger to Connor. I can't."

So I tell Dagmar congrats on being a bit sister..Dagmar yells at me like I must have heard first or something... and wanted to know how long I knew.. .but she goes into the kitchen and I'm confused. So I go in and tell her when... trying to assure her I didn't know before she did...and I get told to Fuck off... and I'm like did I do something to deserve this? and got threatened! Like curled fist and told do I WANT some more. You know what? I've been on the run from threats all my life and I don't have to take it any more so I warn her if she tries it I'll drop her in the lake. Oh no.. you do not tell DAME Dagmar you'll dare defend yourself from her just attacking you. ..."

"And it's escalating right, and I'm thinking Oh to hell with this, Lake time...and then I hear connor whimper and i'm like.. that's my little brother."

Yup, lots of anger, and distress at the discovery of connor

"So I feel terrible for upsetting Connor, and turn to him trying to calm him.. and Dagmar... won't let.up. She starts insulting me, saying my comment about the lake was ridiculous baby stuff blah blach kneel before Zod or whatever... and Connor bolts . "

Brekke listens, frowning.

"out the door...and I look at Dagmar and say 'really? in front of the kid?" or something like that" a hiss "And she says 'something oh sure make me that bad guy'"

"And.. I'm like oh she does not get to play the worn out pity me I'm a foster kid card after scaring Connor who has his OWN troubles with family... and I'm like 'no, you made yourSELF the bad guy' and she had. But before it got worse... Sylvi is in there trying to cool things and ..." Embarrassed "orders me out to go after Connor. And I was going to anyway but...yeah... I go."

Pacing "So you tell me? Because if this was just 'repay all debts' I'd pop her ass into the lake and call it even. But she almost lost it in front of CONNOR... and if a Gwydion loses it... well, I remember enough Sidhe lore for that."

"I will NOT have her a threat to Connor. I won't. " Her eyes threatening to darken at the thought of it

And eyebrow. "You think she was a threat to Connor? The way you tell it, it sounds as though she meant to threaten you."

"That's the only reason I didn't risk jumping us BOTH far away from him. " She says a sigh "But Gwydions don't single target. Chieftain, you know that. If she went beserk, she'd smash EVERYONE... until she was stopped. "

An admission "I was scared for my little brother so maybe I'm not thinking straight"

"Mm." A thoughtful nod. "Even for a Gwydion, while our anger is strong, it takes a great deal to drive us to that sort of rage. We are not Fiona. Do you think she was truly about to destroy, mindlessly?"

"I don't know.. I didn't insult her honor that I know of, unless you coun't the comment about her making herself the bad guy and that's not slighting her honor, that's calling her on her bullshi...her whining. Maybe she wouldn't, but she sure seemed to be on the edge of it. So help me, Chief, if she comes after me I will defend myself and I won't 'fight' I'll use anything I've got . ... and if she goes after Connor? " A warning note "She BETTER kill me. Because it'll be the only way she'll be able to sleep safe."

"Hm." Brekke looks at Gerd a moment. "You will understand if I wish to hear Dagmar's side of this at some point."

"Yeah. She's going to know I narced, but yeah. You have to be fair."

a long breath and a mutter "Should have known it was going to go south when it intruded on Tea"

"I started out with a cup of tea..." A shrug "it was... you ever look forward to that PERFECT cup of coffee alone? And then.. everyone shows up? Loud?"

"Ah." A nod. "So...you were upset."

"mm " She ponders this "Maybe at first...but then it got fun. We joked around about Sylvi being far too happy and so on... iwas actually in a good mood when I congratulated Dagmar on being an older sister and then blam! Suck town..like out of nowhere"

"Well...I doubt it was truly 'out of nowhere'...but you might not have seen where it came from."

"Possible" She says "I would love an apology but doubt I'm going to get one. I think Connor NEEDS an apology. You know how he thinks when folks get upset he did it. He's... he's a kid you know? He's helpless and he's got no parents, not really. We're his only family. He's my brother. I don't say that just to amuse him."

"I understand that, and I appreciate the way you have adopted him as a sibling, Gerd. I think it is good for him, and perhaps for you." Then she looks thoughtful. "Hmm."

"If you think I'm going to apologize to her I'm not sure I can... she'll know I'm lying if I try."

Adding "And I really would rather eat dirt right now"

"That is not what I was thinking. I was considering that the lack of family is something you and Connor and Dagmar all have in common."

"Dagmar HAS family" A snort "Tove is falling overherself to be her best mom. Her dad oathed... and she's got a brother or sister on the way. You know, she HAD a hard life, but now? Now Dagmar has it made. SHE'S lucky. I should be jealous of her."

"It was not always this way for her. What she has now is security after a very long time of lack of security. And yes, she is very fortunate now." A look at Gerd. "Are you jealous?"
