"Well, Sam's gonna text me so you're SOL there." Resigned. "And, not invited to another Gloaming so.... sorry, Nab. What do -you- want to do?"

"Let's go for a walk? Fresh hair ala possession? From there? the world is ours!"

"Sure." And he heads out, leaving his car at the ice cream place.

He moves with a quick easy step, the air feels crisp on his skin and the smells of trees go on.

He notices after a time, something moving in the wood.

"I Heard it's... whoa, BIG kitty!"

It's a cougar, a mountain lion.

Adam's eyes are huge!! They don't live in New Jersey!

"Well, it's a here... GULP"

As if realizing it has been spotted, the sleek cougar slips out behind it's cover and sniffs

Clearly Nabuni is not born of the dreams of a zooligist

Flame surrounds the staff at his question.

The Cougar looks, surprised, but doesn't panic as animals tend to do.

Then the cougar shifts, transforming into a troll..with glasses

"Well, that's an interesting trick for a kinain, I must say"

Adam waves the fire..... and blinks..... Nab?

"Never met this guy before in my life"

"Greetings and solicitations. My name is Jonas. " he offers a hand despite the burning staff, "I'm assisting RIvervale lodge."

Adam offers his hand back. "Adam."

It snuffs.

"Adam. Nice to meet you. Pardon my inquisitiveness, but you seem...infused. You are in your own right mind? Your conscience is your own?"

His grip is firm, not as strong as some trolls but solid. It's not freindly or unfriendly.

"Uh." He waits to get his hand back. "Yeah."

"Adequate then. " the grip parts "I'm no Gwydion so obviously I have only my own eyes and mind to surmise the facts, but there seems no reason to doubt your statement. Are you an acquaintance of the lodge, Adam?"

"Yes....."

"Ah, then I need not bring the tedium of rules and requests and so forth. I know it would get tiring to hear ad infinitum. Do you require assistance with anything?"

"No......"

"Do let me know if the status quo shifts in that regard- I take my duties quite seriously" Jonas says.

"Uh. Ok." He may not be following, entirely.

"I am most appreciative of your accommodating nature. If my cougar form caused you undue alarm, I apologize. I find patrolling easier with the superlative senses only being an animal can bring" Jonas says

"Holy.... uh. I mean, careful. Cats like that don't live in New Jeresy."

"I am aware but your advisement and concern is noted and appreciated. Normally I travel as a chimerical version so only enchanted or kithain may make note of it even if they should see me."

Maybe the mortal is just dim. "Oh. I guess that makes sense."

"Forgive my premature departure, but I must continue my vigilance" The troll nods and walks off

"Yeah, uh.... later."

"Your guess is as good as mine. If he's pulling your chain he's got an amazing poker face. I think he's just fond of big words"

Adam admires the departing troll's ass.
