And yet.

When it is SUGAR, all bets are off.

"It's bizarre. The other day? I made some cotton candy, they were on it like piranha on raw meat. Nothing left but the stick"

"You gotta distract them when sugar floss is on the line, my dude."

"I know that NOW, yes" he says "Hopefully I can find a way to dsitract them on the fourth or the fairy floss will be a lost cause for others."

All three Nevers turn to look in interest at 'fairy floss'.

"It's not even out yet, you chromatic vandals" He tells them

"Ach, you're worst than Muppet!"

Muppet, to his credit, waits patiently outside the kitchen door, on the patio.

Even IF there was not a weaver ward in place to keep the dogs out of the kitchen, he is well behaved! Unlike... well, Ivan is well trained, but he also has his own ideas of what constitutes proper attendance on HIS person. Which would include joining her at the dinner table if allowed.

It is not allowed.

It has, sadly, proven futile to try the same on Nevers. They always find a loophole somehow.

Much to Gwen's lament but she sees the Baron's point

"Oh any fair floss/cotton candy flavor you like best, while I'm at it, Thistle?"

"You? Fun Colors? NOOO..." A smile though

A shrug. It's a fair cop.

Gladiola stomps in, offended "Coffee" Blunt

Ernie blinks, "Ah, sure" And gets her some

Gladiola is muttering under her breath "Too many variables? Stupid idea? Assholes..." She takes the coffee "Thanks." And downs it

"What crawled up your ass?"

"Crawled up my ass? Bias crawled up my ass, BIGOTRY, crawled up my ass" Gwen grumbles

"Uhhhh"

"Is this a Native American thing?" Ernie risks

"Hmm?" Gwen snorts "No.. no. It's bigotry just the same. You know those cute websites where you can compare how big a human baby is before birth month by month? I suggested to one site they make something like that for little dogs yet to be born. I got told it was 'too many variables' and a 'stupid idea'" A humph "it's a bias!"

"you.. wanted them to make a website that measured the size of unborn puppies week by week?" Ernie dares to confirm

"Yeah, I did" The troll glowers daring him to call it stupid to her face

"Doesn't it vary a lot by breed?"

"Right, a variable, true, but they could adapt to that, they're just lazy " Gwen snorts

Brow.

"Well, you do it then."

"I don't have computer programming skils" She sighs

"No, but you can figure out what fruit is what size."

Ernie nods slowly "What she said"

"Mmm, " Gwen nods "maybe... yeah, I could do that. Getting close on Eddie's having puppies by the way. " She walks off "Fine, I'll show them, I'll show them all"

Ernie watches the troll go off, then says to Thistle "God, she needs some hobbies"

She covers her mouth to stifle the laughter while nodding in agreement.

A pause "I better protect the fruit supplies"

"Oh, (&&^%, can you imagine?"

"She's going to need examples. " He looks protectively at the fruit drawer in the fridge "maybe a lock? No she'd just break it open with a thumb and finger"

"Godspeed, Madman."

Citrine chimes impertinently, waggling a tiny finger at Madern.

She seems to be scolding him!
