A wink and a grin.

August, who understandably sometimes finds crowds of strangers to be a bit much, seems to have meandered off to find a quiet corner for a few minutes, with perhaps some books or scrolls to view.

"We're coming along on the end of the auction, folks, with only two items left~! One donation from friendly neighbors at Dark Gate, but first up, let's take a look at the Dollhouse Arena, a creation from Glassmaster Bertrand, sponsored by Cesar Carolos!"

"Oh, I'm very intrigued by this," Coradel says to Siv, then drifts a little forward to get a good look at the item.

"This delightful contrivance is shaped line a gladiatorial arena of old, but the fighters are all glass figurines only 3" tall. Once a day they will battle for your amusement, and as Cesar you may declare who lives or dies! Only to reform the next day! Live your dreams of being a Roman Emperor, without leaving your study or playroom!"

Briar scoffs, none-too-quietly, "What good is a fight where nothin' bleeds?"

"You could add ketchup" Gwen points out

"What if you filled the gladiators with, like, little glass seed beads? They could spill'm when they were killed..." Thistle suggest, helpfully!

"Ten dollars" Cutbert holds up a tenner.

Coradel gives a surprised look at the low first bid. "Fifteen," she says, not to rush the action.

Danica raises her paddle, "Fifty."

A grin from Coradel. Paddle. "Seventy."

Sir Tástáil looks a his squire "Seventy five"

A Troll grump that has somewhat gone to fat, but still muscled under there, lifts a paddle somewhat boredly. "A hundred."

Siv chimes in "Hundred and 10"

Coradel is bemused. "One twenty."

She looks at the other bidders. What's the squire's expression?

"One twenty-five?" The unseelie looking grump suggests.

HOpeful but not rabid

A treasure is a treasure after all, and rarely do they come cheap.

The troll doesn't look especially committed, but a late arrival, bidding on SOMETHING.

Tástáil ponders "One hundred and forty"

The troll shrugs and bows out, heading for the snack table.

Coradel considers the sidhe...and his squire...

Thistle AND Zara are both studying the late arrival!

Zara more discretely.

"One hundred and forty-five," she says slowly.

Unseelie, and perhaps not quite dressed for the occasion. His outfit is a security guard's uniform, with voile that shows armor that may have fit better in a younger, slimmer form. Lavender may recognize the security guard from the Discovery Zoo down the way.

Sir Tástáil shakes his head to his squire, who kicks a wall, then winces

Lavender pats the big guy on the shoulder and shows him some of those fantastic spinach puffs

Coradel looks to the auctioneer.

Siv lets it go.

"Going Twice... and SOLD to Lady Coradel!"

A demure curtsy, and she goes to settle up her debt.

Lavender gets a grin from the fellow.. what was his name? Gus, or Otto, something like that.... and he hands her an envelop that contains tickets for free entry to the discovery zoo, apparently to hand out at the get togethre. "From the Old Goat himself." He grunts around a spinach puff.

Perhaps those would have been better shared at the START of the night, not the end.

"Ah, thanks" Lavender smiles

Once Coradel has managed her payment, she seeks out the Daireann and his squire.

"Sir Tástáil," she says with a nod. "And this is...?" indicating the squire.

Sir Tástáil is speaking to Cutbert "Well, if you brroke your toe, you have nine others.." A sigh "And I'll take a look at it

Squire Cutbert looks up to see Coradel, and he bows /glares

A nod to the boy, as well.

"Baroness," Sir Tástáil bows "I am Sir Tástáil ap Daireann, this is my Squire, Cutbert."

"It is a pleasure to meet you both. Though...I think perhaps your squire is somewhat wroth with me. May I offer an arrangement?"

"You surprise me, Baroness, the boy will take no revengge onn you. There is no cause even for a House Daireann, I assure you" Tástáil nods

"Vengeance for he, never for me" The Redcap sulks

"I remind you of that teacher? The one who gave you busy work?" the knight tells the boy

"Oh yea, THAT was cool" Cutbert remembers fondly.

Briar is somewhat subtly watching this. Gwen ain't better not be thinking I'm gonna simp for her like that....

"Oh, I do not think that he would, no." In fact, Coradel seems quite at ease about this. She says, "I propose that you take the arena from now until Yule, enjoying it but keeping it in excellent repair...and then you return it to me at EarthRunes, where you may meet our various fledges and squires, and enjoy our hospitality." The invitation is directed towards both of them, but more towards the boy.
