The Scathach - a Knight, it looks like... she is proud, and makes a last desperate bid, "One THOUSAND!"

"One thousand and fifty," Coradel says easily, looking from Adelaide to the knight.

Her weapons well polished and voile immaculate, but on closer inspection, neither new nor of the finest quality. She sits back, disappointed, looking defeated. This battle was won by the power of pocketbook.

Nadeen looks intrigued by the knight, and makes a note to get to know her

Coradel looks to the auctioneer haughtily.

"One thousand one hundred' Adelaide says, but she takes a DEEP breath.

"Onethousand fifty going once.... OH, we have Eleven Hundred!"

Blossom offerrs the drink tray to Earl, he takes a STRONG shot

Coradel looks sharply at Adelaide, then back to the auctioneer. "Twelve hundred."

"Twelve hundred to Earth Runes!"

Adelaide sigghs "Ah well, it was worth a try. " She inclines her her head to the baroness

Zara whispers to her troll.

Coradel accepts her victory from Adelaide, and then looks to the auctioneer to finalize it.

"Going once... twice..." A look to the Scathach, who shakes her head minutely... "And SOLD to Lady Coradel!"

Earl hears, then nods to Zara, a look of thanks

CHeers break out... most impressed by that contest

Coradel dips her head briefly, accepting the applause.

Once the chatter and applause die down.

"Next up, a touch of lighter fare - this pair of coconuts!"

The Auctioneer walks back and forth a few paces, tapping them together, and the distinct sound of a horses hooves clopping are heard, they even sound like they would stepping upon that polished floor. There's even a whinny!

Snickers break out

Earl walks to the Lady Scathach "Pardon me? Do you have a moment?"

A smile from Coradel at the next item as well.

The Lady bows to Earl, one knight to another. "Sir Earl, a pleasure. I regret that your portrait will not adorn my walls."

Thistle snorts with amusement!

Art seems a bit baffled by the coconuts - something lost in popular culture. "A clever jest?"

Zara has a rattily, raspy sound that could be the sluagh version of a giggle.

"It.. there's this movie. And, like, the king pretends to ride a horse, and his squire follows him around clopping coconuts..."

"Fifty bucks" Siv says with a grin

"Sixty," Coradel follows almost immediately.

Earl inclines his head "Thank you for showing such apprecition for my work, Lady .. or is it Dame?"

"Dame Sofia ap Scathach." She offers him a hand to shake, her own firmly calloused - both fae as a warrior, and mortal as someone who works for a living.

Bluebell chirps, "Ever so nice is fifty twice!" She waves a handkerchief in the air rather than a paddle.

"For the children of EarthRunes, one hundred ten!" Coradel calls.

Bluebell pouts, but, "Alas, the wee ones here are blessed with their OWN hooves."

"Oh playing the KID card" Siv smiles though "115"

Coradel looks at Bluebell, wondering if that was a slight on EarthRunes' stables.

Earl shakes the hand "An honor, Dame Sofia. Please, don't think me as crass opportunist, but I do do commisions, perhaps you canno have that painting, but another is possible?"

She considers a moment, then nods to Siv, allowing the victory.

...unless somebody else snatches it.

Sofia ap Scathach looks at the portriat being packed up. "This one appeared to draw the knowledge of one's lover from out of nowhere. Tell me, could you create a portrait of one whose face is no longer known?"

Bluebell doesn't appear to have been poking fun - indeed, she is smiling over at where Blossom and Rochallor are sampling cakes - a horse pooka childing and a centaur filly.

"SOLD! To Lady Captain Siv!"

Earl looks sympathetic at this, "Dame Sofia, I could try.. it would take glamour, and dross, some of your glamour to help the link, but.. it might work"

"If I might? Should you ever visit Earthrunes," Earl continues "You really should visit the library there. And.. talk to the librarian"

"If you are willing, Sir Earl, I would try. You see, I sought an oracle to tell me my future in love. It was revealed that I have, or once had, a Trueheart, but they are not in the mortal realms... no more could be revealed. I do not care if they are titled or common, Sidhe of Autumn or in Arcadia still, or any other kith - still in Arcadia, or even if they are lost to the dreaming. I just wish to look upon their face."

Earl is no Fionna, but one can't be in Earthrunes lately without a little corruption, and... the story touches him "For such a worthy cause, a discounnt is offered. I may fail, but any chance for such a thing is worthwhile"

She bows to him. "I will come to Earthrunes then to speak on this further. I am much appreciative, Sir Earl. I can only imagine that your time and portraits are in high demand."

Siv bows, "Thank you all" She smiles.

"Pre samhain is my busy season" earl admits "My art tends towards the macabre, but I have the luxury of prioritizing"

"I can connect with you after, if that's better. I've waited a lifetime, what's one month more?"
