"One is embarrassed!" The cub protests

"One will survive..and hold still," The mother says and continues during cleaning "There has been no further news of the dragon, and yet more dreams flee into these woods. There is a rabbit chimera who claimss if we devour him, the giants will be quite cross." Lick lick..." There is a new spirit akin to the glome in the area."

Sam hides a smile with her hand.

"A new spirit? Oh, I shall have to check with Klump."

The cub endures.

"The poacher was caught, and I think we got all of his traps. He had..." A pause. "He had a weapon."

"One expects weapons , be it fangs inborn or held...you speak of something more?" A pause in the licking

She nods. "A cold weapon."

"Ah, the cold iron... this weapon, it is gone from the wood?"

She nods. "Melted down. But it was a mortal who had it."

"Mmph" The winged wolf nods "One is troubled as who gifts such things? One would suggest you hunt the dealer in poison down and shred them from limb to limb, scattering their essence. But then, one is a protective mother"

"This one is fine, mother, honest!" The cub says

and gets licked

"We're working on it. But... well, it seemed right you should know what's up."

"One is appreciative," Moonseeker says "One hopes her own words were of use."

The cub is released, and shakes as if trying to get the mother spit off her.

but nothing removes mother spit save mothers

"We're watching for the dragon, too."

"As is my mate" A sigh

"I will tell my pack, we have those who can see more than I..." Lupita offers

"I'm sure he'd do anything to protect his mate and cubs."

A pleased look on the mother wolf, not so different from how Tove looks about Jaymes "One did select one's mate well"

"I'm sure!"

"Would you like to meet this one's other off spring?" She says after awhile. Mothers, once their protective guard is dropped, can sometimes be inordinately proud of their kids even if sometimes exasperated.

"See a group of winged cubs each one as cute as fu...fun, yeah we sure would" Lupita says

"Could we, please?"

Moonseeker gives of a sound of summoning... and one by one, the cubs show up. The brassy one the last to arrive, and gets a bit of a nip from mom for tardieness when called, but nothing too bad.

"Your children are beautiful, Moonseeker."

One of the Cubs preens the most..."See, mother? This one has good eyes"

"Your name wouldn't be Sylvi, would it?" Lupita smiles

Dag offers out a broad hand for inspection.

Oh sniffs and even a few licks

"Sylvi was in her winter clothes then. She's not always so stuck up."

Moonseeker looks amused "Well, this one's name is Silverpaw, which is close"

"Pretty name. Hello, Silverpaw."

"Hello" She beams

Feathersnort sighs

"I'm treebumper" the brassyone says

"Do you like ear scritches, or is that an insult?"

"Treebumper, one's wording is very... one knows how one's mother feels about this slang" Moonseeker says

"But mother, that's how the chimera here talk, 'I' think it's cool" Tree Bumper says

"Well, one is understanding one si not a dog?" Silverpaw says, then "but yes., one likes them"

"Me too?" Feathersnort hopes.

"here, I have fingers too" Lupita helps happy to have an excuse to pet the cubs

"That's why I asked. One doesn't ask dogs."

"Well, come down Feathersnort!"

Feathersnort gulps... looks nervous

Then spreads her wings...she really doesn't want to be left out, and she glides!

"One is doing it!" She chimes, "One might be able to ..."

"Try," the mother says excietedly "flap one's wings as one was shown.."
