"You can do it!" So there's the runt from before...

Treebumper appears to be supportive "You can do it!" He repeats, liking the slang!

Siverpaw nods "Flap!"

And the flapping threatens to break the glide.... "oh..."

"Just keep it going..." Lupita says "We garou cannot fly but you can!"

"This one can this one can..." Feathersnort strains at first but then flaps.. in unison and... flutters from downward descent to arc up!

Moonseeker gives a rather undignified wag, but she's not alone

"YES!"

Wags, cheers and more... Feathersnort circles not once, not twice but three whole times!

Before landing into Dagmar's arms "ooo one is tired."

"Oh one is proud," Moonseeker beams, "One's daughter shall have a new name if her mate agrees. And if the daughter wishes"

Dag holds the cub, beaming.

"Oh yes! Yes yes... this giant and lostwolf are good luck!" Feathersnort (perhaps to be renamed something more diginfied now) licks the troll's left nostril

"Gack. Thanks, Feathersnort. But that was all you."

"Careful, of you'll be named cubsnorter" Lupita says under her breath

Then Lupita says "Dagmar is right... you proved yourself and we were all glad to cheer for you"

Treebumper nods "Soon one's sister.. I mean you, will hunt by my side. We will be AMAAAZING " The cub boasts.

Moonseeker's ears flatten a bit at the slang and she looks a bit worried about this bad habbit

A scritch for the runt's ears. "Good job, yeah."

Another cub speaks up "Do you have stories?"

"Um. Some? I'm not a great storyteller..."

"See, my mom's a bard, she's better."

"Story story.." The cubs chant

Lupita says "I am no galliard so.."

"STORY STORY"

"Well... I could tell you how Gwydion the Grey came to be a wolf..."

"ooo" and they all sit down attentively

Well, she certainly isn't Tove... but she paid attention to the story of the arrogant young man, brash and uncaring, who was forced to face consequences for his actions.

Quite a bit of zeal about Keridwyn, fighting for her father and for honor (and kicking Gwydion's ass).

And then - Gwydion's punishment/trial - as a stag, as a boar, and finally - as a wolf.

Gasps... to be turned into prey! Terrifying!

But then a wolf? YAY!

And finally, of Gwydion restored, but humbled - knowing now what it was to fear, what it was to have children and a mate

His wrath at those who would callously destroy!

"Being a wolf taught him that" Treebumper says with certainty

"One knows when one is a wolf" Feathersnort agrees

"One, even one who is a wolf, needs lessons to learn... and this lesson was good," Moonseeker declares

"Well, he learned much from being a wolf. And your father, EmberEyes, says you are, in part, kin to Gwydion."

"So now you know a story of one of your ancestors."

Talk among the cubs soons run rampant about 'pawpaw Gwydion', a term that might mortify some Gwydions, and amuse the hell out of others.

Dag shoots a grin at Lupe and shrugs.

Lupita chuckles and talks and answers questions about garou...perhaps even a bit too much as Dag hears more of it too... but still.. tales (and tails) of glory and so on..

Well, who is going to deny a fluffy cub a story?

but mostly Dagmar notices how this visit to this family of winged dreams has set Lupita at ease, made her forget her worries for a time

Gonzalez needed this.

And that makes her smile a little, too.

And it's a fine way to pass the time... eventually dad will return, food will be had, and each must go back to their own, but for now?
