"Only if you're holding my hand."

She takes his hand with her free one, slips the beglamoured quarter in... and there's a tingle, the screen comes up, and begins a narration in a very macho voice:

Frank shifts, putting Siv slightly behind him, his face going grave.

"This is...."

A BURST of glamour, and...

Frank's dressed in a rambo like outfit, the world is..well, chimerical, but also digital, pixelated in appearance? He gazes at a truck, a rig that looks like a cross between his own, and a tank! ARmored, outfited, with garish displays of a silver woman with blue hair on fire, very pin up, but also in a 'go get em ' pointing pose. His daughter looks over herself, "Oh wow! I have a fauxhawk!"

"Crap."

"Get in the rig, Siv." He hustles her there.

NPC number one speaks, words appearing over his head "Thanks for doing this, Honcho. Hope your tail gunner is good. You're going to need it. The Mutants and Reavers are out in droves. You're our only chance to get through"

Frank finds the door locked, for now. It's like he needs to let this scene play out.

Siv is sandwiched between the rig and Frank, protected.

"DAD. Can you relax? The Dreaming I can handle. Or..whatever this is."

The NPC acts like their conversation isn't even regestrining, "So, you delivery food and water, books, or medical supplies?"

Siv looks over the NPC, "he's like Joe everyman, with radiation burns"

"Books." Frank answers.

"Load em up, literacy is on the line..." The NPC flickers not with glamour, but wobbly FX. Numerous look alikes open the back of the truck and load things up, "You'll be taking Empty Hollow, becareful, the cannibal mutants don't use them as napkins as they try to dine on you and your partner. Once you get past the hollow, you'll see the town. Good luck, Post Apocalyptic Truckers" A blurring scene, things loaded, and Frank finds himself in the driver seat of this damn thing. At least it looks like it's got the same gear as a real rig. Siv where is....

"Back here, dad! I'm at some kind of pop out tail gun! WOot!"

Frank grinds his teeth. "Siv, you be careful and I want you up here if there is any question. I'm Captain here, you understand?"

A pause, "Trucks aren't ships, dad." A pause "Just saying." The truck is already moving it seems, and Frank finds he's forced to use his skills to stay on what appears to be a dangerously thin road shooting down a hollow of barren pines, figures start lumbering to block the road ahead of him.

Frank grits his teeth again; he's going to need a dentist. "Siv! Twelve o'clock!"

The figures are clearly not human, humanoid maybe...deformed, and wearing ratty clothing, the mutants charge forward, words flashing by for their 'talk' like 'Don't let the books through, softer minds go down smoother!' and 'Mm Trucker! Nom nom nom!'

"You may have to run over some," SHe calls and fires... hollywood style bullets, SO much muzzle flare! The mutants don't bleed, but rather fall into plots in the ground that open up behind them and seal, sometimes with little itty bitty tombstones

Frank puts the hammer down. THe only way out, is through.

Mutant bodies smash against the grill, and most go under...one leaps up and tries to get in the side window. mm in the shotgun seat, is a shot gun.

If Frank can't SHOVE the mutant back out... then yes.

Frank finds to his delight his birthright works FINE, and the mutant flings back onto the road "Edkamcashun HURTZ!" Thump thump roll

Siv fires again , more at the sides to keep them from getting to the front, and says "You okay? DAD? Did he bite you? I've seen some scary stuff about canibal bites"

"I'm FINE! Watch yourself!"

"Don't worry, I've got the big gun, and grenades! I have grenades? COOOLLL..."

Frank could try to mow more down, but he's not here for points, he's here to deliver, and more than that- the sooner he gets to the next level or whatever, the sooner this game ends, he hopes! He banks hard from side to side, avoiding Molotov cocktails and leaping mutants!

Siv calls out "harder to hit when you do that!"

But they are making progress

"NOT LOOKING TO HIT!" He roars back.

There's a BOOM and a shudder to the side, "Never mind, grenades seem to need less accuracy"

"CAREFUL!"

"It's just a smaller version of an old cannon powder keg, Captain. But don't worry, I'll not use them too much. I think they have a slow respawn rate"

Frank GUNS it and drives through before the mutants can fell a tree in front of the vehicle... "WOw that was close" Siv says

and a voice booms in the heavens "Next LEVEL! KEEP ON TRUCKING!"

"shit"

Muttered under his breath

Wider road? that's that's good...

Canibal mutants in pick up trucks with barbed 'testicular decor' on their underside and razor on their hubcaps? Bad!

Frank growls, and puts the hammer down, using his years on the road to inform his play.

Weirdly enough, this kind of reminds him of that encounter with that biker gang in the ugly parts of Cali back in..well, nevermind that. The hammer goes down and a truck hoping to swerve into him misses and nearly loses control. Siv whirls and fires another another "Avast, bilgerat! Taste our steel"

And a pause, "That's not right is it dad? I mean, is there trucker trash talk?"

"There is, and I won't have it in your mouth!" Frank shouts, driving.

"Dad, I'm not a little girl anymore..." She explodes another truck, "But fine. And...look out!"

Frank is about to answer his daughter, when another lunatic manages to leap onto a window, ready to push him off again, frank blinks as the guy instead throws a grenade into the cab!

They have grenades too? That's not fair
