For Dagmar, it's another ordinary day at her foster home, and she'd rather be anywhere else.

Dag is glaring at her homework, not doing it.

the homework doesn't seem to be doing itself.

Glare. Glare. Equation. Glare.

A couple questions just get random answers. 2. 5. 43.

A knock on the door and a "Knock Knock"

Mrs. Brown speaking

"Yeah?" The bed creaks as she sits up.

"Hey, Got a call from school today. "

"I didn't do nuthin'." She stands, crossing over to open the door.

"that might be the problem"

"You've missed some days? Not turning in homework"

She scowls.

"Sam," She says as she comes in, "We're worried about you. I know new schools are hard, but..."

Sam slouches, arms folded. "I went all week this week. And last."

"Yes, shame I didn't hear about the week before that until now, and... your homework?" A glance to what she's doing, "Do you need some help with that?"

"No." Sullen.

"Okay. You know if you're more comfortable with Matt, either of us is happy to help"

"I don't need any help. I can do it."

"....Am I in trouble?"

"well, we worry you might be with the school," She says

A grunt and she shrugs.

then gently, "It's.. lately you seem happier, maybe made some new friends? And that's great, but... part of what we're suppsed to see to is also you having a better future."

"I've been doing my homework, though."

"You have?" She sitts down, "Mrs. Rsizenbokeer in Algebra says you didn't"

"Well, she's lying."

"Maybe I missed one or two, but it sucks."

"Okay. It maybe the one or two that she's thinking about."

"I've been good and now I get in trouble? That's bullshit."

"Hey, we're trying to keep trouble from happening"

She grunts, looking sulky. "Why bother?"

"Well, be cause people care..and..."

The doorbell rings.

"Well, I can't go back in time."

"Okay, we'll take later, you work on your homework"

She goes down to get the door

Sam takes a few steps over to the top of the stairwell, listening to down-below.

"I'm sorry, have we met?" A voice.

"Yes, several times. "

The last voice, male, and ...there's a surge of that glamour stuff

A confused look, and she tromps down the stairs.

She sees the Satyr! that, professor Wayburton!

And Jennifer Brown is now on a chair smiling happily

A glare at the satyr. "What did you do?"

"Oh, you're ... I thought you'd be upstairs." He says, "Pardon. Did you need her?"

"What did you do to her?" Folds her arms, stubborn.

"Oh, currently I made it so she's reliving a pleasant memory."

"hi, I'm professor Wayburton, you met my wife at the party, though I fear she worries she offended you greatly. My turn to put the proverbial hoof in my mouth"

"Why are you here? Why did you put a whammy on her?"
