Samhain is but a night or two away, and Dagmar feelsi to her core.

It has been building for weeks - something curled in the pit of her stomach, dissatisfied and restless and craving for... something...

In some ways it has assisted her, less maudlin, but the Beast is out of it's territory and that has it's own problems. To be fair, she's picked up in her classes. She's started to make friends.

But her old friends are distant. And Beasts don't like not having , not holding

She doesn't own this turf.

She doesn't have a pack.

It shows at first in small ways - holing up in her room, the only patch she feels comfortable claiming. Labelled food in the fridge.

May's script is still unopened, pristine, and secure in the top drawer of her nightstand. Flyswatter is always on her back.

A knock on the door from the outside indicates whoever it is, it's not Sylvi or Symon.

FROWN.

"Hello?" She inquires from inside.

"Hey" A familiar voice, Olgar "Got a drop off. Don't worry, kept my promise to Sylvi and wasn't seen on Campus"

She opens the door for the Rover. "Hey."

Amber eyes dart around the grump, checking the hallway behind him with the wary caution of a wolf. Just in case there's a threat.

He reads it, "Easy, worse threat I saw was a Brainsucker chimera and that was near the trod so I took care of it. Hope I wasn't stepping on your turf by doing so?" He has a large basket of supplies "I got food from the Hearth, and your mom, of course. Where do you want me to put it?"

Her hands twitch, wanting to grab it. Her tone is only a step away from growling. "Gimme."

"Heh." he hands it over without complaint "Guess we're feeling the Unseelie side. Hope Sylvi's not been too obnoxious? Love her, but my little girl can be a touch self involved when she goes deep"

A mixture of a grunt and a snort. "She's not too bad yet." Walking towards the kitchen with the goods - Olgar is free to follow, or not.

He does and looks a round "Glad to hear it. Your mother also sends her love , dad too, in his taciturn way. They wonder how you're doing. I'm guessing the last thing you want to talk about is your GPA though. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. But i Hope you at least like some of the classes. "

The goods are... actually wonderful. Her mom AND Kerri made stuff clearly for Dagmar, some of her favorites. And, by chance perhaps, or maybe to keep them from sliding into Symon's food, section off some by name for Dagmar

She looks through the basket, taking out HER food to make a little hoard.

"I guess class is okay. Ain't failing."

Olgar notices this, "That's good... you got your guard up. Has there been a lot of trouble when it comes to flat out danger? Not that you can't handle it. Far as I'm concerned, Flyswatter's the strongest form of 'no means no' on this Campus."

"Nothing I can't handle. And I'm keeping an eye on Sylvi so she doesn't do something stupid for attention."

"She can handle herself pretty well, careful if she thinks you're trying to control her. She hates that"

"Mortal boys are puppy dogs, anyways. Sylvi's tough." Rough respect.

"Hell yeah" A nod

"I just, y'know, keep an eye."

"Preciate it. I got a father's instinct to over do it if I'm not careful" A look at the food, "That aside, I can't help but notice you're a bit on the defensive yourself. Used to , when you gathered up the food like that, it meant you expected someone might try to take something from you. "

Kerri noticed it before he did, of course, but that's a given

Grunt-shrug, dodging his gaze.

"Ain't like I can get this every day. Don't want..." She trails off, not sure how to finish that.

He doesn't press or demand, but does give her a space of time to decide if she wants to continue.

"These are mine."

"And given you had stuff taken from you for a lot of your life, you just want to put up some boundaries." A nod of respect "When you start out with nothing but bad, you fight harder for what good comes your way."

"...Yeah."

"Yeah." More firmly.

"Been there, not in the same way, of course, but I like to think enough that I get it. " A nod "Unseelie believe Change is Good but a lot of us have provisos or qualifiers on it. Take your mom, Thyle sucked to her and her dad, she wanted to leave it, so she got a change for the better. Others have change that they don't always pick, that's life, but you can adapt to meet it, or try to control the change so it doesn't hurt you as much. Hard balance but it can be done. How are you choosing to take control over the changes that are in your life?"

"Sec" He says "I left something outside" And he ducks out , the enters in with a box "I told your mom you might not want this" It's like a trunk "Might not have room. She told me to try and you might like it"

A quizzical frown.

"I'll find room." Resolved to that much. "What is it?"

"Wood" he says simply "Your mother thought you might want to keep your wood carving up. We got pine and oak and cedar and teak and .. I don't know. Some wood cutting gear too. Seems to do the Chief some good sometime to put her feelings into the wood, and your mom so I guess they figured you might like the option. I was never artistically inclined myself "

If she looks in, she can see just what he said, wood samples varying from medium to small, and tools

Of course she looks. This grunt seems somewhere between approval/appreciation.

"I'll find room."

"I'm not like Chief, I don't get all..." Vague gesture.

"You don't beat yourself up for every little thing you didn't do perfectly" Olgar nods "Yeah, Samhain is rough on her."

"Yeah."

"Besides, if I did, I'd never get any break."

He chuckles "Nothing is perfect kiddo, the sidhe cope with it by delusion mostly, we trolls know it for a fact or the world wouldn't need guardians. I remember when you came in, new to your true nature, ready for a fight with everything and anything, wondering what everyone's angle was. Kind of adorable if you don't mind me saying, but at the same time, justified. I got a theory that everyone's two sides are there in part for a reason. Strong inlfuence or soft, they teach us things. Maybe Da'an gave the Chief her winter side of that type so she wouldn't fall to Gwydion's legendary arrogance? No offense there, Falcon. Maybe it was meant to give her sympathy for those that acted broken? You? Well, you struck me as more comfortable Seelie, more importantly , happier. But your unseelie side has wisdom to share as does your Seelie. Now I say this as a a typically unseelie fellow, but I've slipped to my summer and ..begrudgingly, there was always something it was trying to teach me about myself"
