A door closes upstairs, and Kerri appears at the top of the stairway. It's taken a bit of adjusting, the move from the kitchen-adjacent quarters to the Chieftain's room, and it still doesn't quite feel like her space...but not for lack of trying. At least that darn fish isn't singing in the walls all night....

Dag is home! And there's Klump!

Klump is still a bit wounded, of course.

She starts down the stairs and notices the gathering. It's unusual for Klump to be indoors, and it raises concerns. "Dagmar? Everything okay?"

Serenity pops up "Hi, Chief. Want me to get you some coffee?"

"Nope." FROWN.

"Dirk and... a corby?... attacked Klump."

"No thank you, Serenity, not just now."

"Dirk did what?"

"Right? Not like him at all."

She moves to Klump and takes a look at the wound, frowning.

Klump says "I do not know why he attacked. Or who his corby was... beyond other redcaps"

"Where was this?" she asks the glome.

"At the edge of the woods, I was fortunate to come out to find Little Thunder" His wounds are pure rock broken. Some mending thanks to a single cookie

"Dirk woudln't DO that" Serenity frowns

"There's a reason. Figure I'm gonna go tell him to knock it off and the others to get gone."

"Normally, no, he wouldn't," Kerri agrees quietly.

She considers for a moment, looking at the group. "I'm coming with you," she says to Dagmar. "Klump, would you stay here in the Lodge and help defend if necessary?"

"Yes, Hearth..." A beat "Pardon, I Am slow to adapt to changes. Yes, Chieftain."

"I am both, as Brekke was Chieftain and Storm. Either is fine by me."

"I mean, I didn't kenn anything off on Klump... so, yeah, figure Dirk deserves a chance to explain himself."

A nod from the Glome "I would not let your home be endangered"

"Thank you. I'll let Olgar know to be on alert. Serenity, you can contact him if necessary, I think?"

"Lead the way," she says to Dagmar.

"I'll let him know" Serenity says "if you find Dirk, give him a 'what the hell' for me. Stupid pigheaded lump"

"Pity Sy had five tons of homework this weekend. If anybody gets Dirk... "

Kerri grins at Serenity. "Will do."

"Okay. They were in the woods, might still be there?"

"Good place to start."

As they head out, Kerri texts Olgar: Dirk having issues. Keep an ear out for trouble at Lodge. Okay for now.

TXT: WIll do. Heading home then. Be awhile. Stuck in traffic

Take no prisoners! she texts back, then puts her phone away.

"My first thought is somebody's trying to screw with Dirk's reputation, and it's an illusion of him."

"Maybe. Or Dirk has to do something to keep safe with his kith."

"Also a possibility. Neither is particularly good news."

"Yeah. We might have a fight, but I'm hoping to be able to talk this out."

They find the pile of dead chimera before they find the corby or dirk.... Nevers with wings plucked off... half of a chimerical squirrel, and a butchered Doh-a-Deer (Not terribly bright Chimera those)

A brow arch.

"Poor things. Nightmares will nightmare, I suppose, but there are limits to what I'm likely to tolerate." She scowls around them. "Can you figure out which way they went?"

Dag crouches, looking for the clues Brekke taught her to seek.

Kerri, meanwhile, tries to feel the land that's under her leadership...but she's not particularly skilled at that, yet. Kitchens are her thing, not acreage.

And right now, the land seems almost to ask her 'what are you going to do about this?' but gives little to go by

Dagmar leads them down what she thinks is the path of the Corby. She doesn't find them... they've gone into a slippery groove in the wood....

Working on it she thinks back at the land, with more than a little frustration.
