"It's done, do we have to make a big DEAL about this?" Dirk is more healed now thanks to care

"I don't know why you are ashamed... it was four to 1, and they had Peach hostage"

"So... I don't even CARE aabout cats" He says, petting the cat

Serenity blinks, and calls out "Dagmar, Dirk's making no sense again!"

"Huh? What's up?"

"He's acting like he screwed up just because he didn't beat them up himself. AND he says he doesn't like cats, while PETTING his cat. I think he hurt his head"

"I don't like anybody" Dirk insists, petting Scrott

"Dirk doesn't like anybody."

She snags a mug and starts prepping herself a coffee.

Serenity gapes at the troll like She's crazy

"THanks, Dagmar... wish you got to lop that guy's leg all the way off, but nice try"

"Sure it woulda been a good snack, but..." She shrugs.

"You made a good tactical choice. Helped make Kerri look strong, and reinforce that Rivervale is strong."

"Had to have been hard, but being Peacekeeper, you gotta make sure the whole barony gets respect."

Dirk gives Dagmar a look of gratitude, brief but there... "Well, yeah, nobody screws with Chief Kerri, you and me will make sure of that" He says "I do think she wwent too soft on those guys, but her call, and I can always hunt em down later"

She nods. "You can. You don't answer to Dagda the way me or Kerri do."

"Wait, are you saying you PLANNED to get hurt?" Serenity gapes at Dirk

"Hey, I know what redcaps do to their prisoners" He plays it off

Serenity, the sweet youtube sensation, puts her hands on her hips and curses him out "You shtbrained moron! You could have F*king DIED! And you did all this on... PURPOSE? To think I felt sorry for your ####ing ass!" SHe storms off in a huge huff

Dirk looks baffled, then says to Dagmar "You see she's crazy right?"

"Piskies and caps see the world a bit differently. She'll come around."

"Huh" he says "She's kind of brave at the weirdest times"

"May I suggest admitting you may have gotten in over your head?"

"To her, in private."

"I'd rather eat a nockeer, and they give you the shits"

"Well, expect her to be huffy for a bit then."

"You worried her."

"Why would she be worried? " He blinks

Kerri comes in from the kitchen, wiping her hands on a dishcloth. Chieftain or no, Hearthwork is her comfort zone. She gives Dirk an appraising look. "You look better. Feeling better?"

"Because you're an idiot." She takes a long sip of coffee. "Hi Kerri. Chieftain."

"Hey Chief" Dirk is much better, but looking confused

A grin at Dagmar. "Either is fine when we're casual, Dagmar. Titles only definitely required for formality, okay?"

To Dirk, "Something wrong? You look like maybe you got concussed."

"OH not you too" he huffs "Got Serenity saying I hit my head and was a moron... and Dagmar saying I'm an idiot"

A blink. "Well, sounds like a consensus." She looks to Dagmar for clarification.

"Well, I was saying Peacekeeper Dirk made a tactical choice to not fight back against the corby. It helped the Lodge look strong - and you, too, as Chief."

"Serenity might not understand the tactics, and overly focused on Dirk endangering himself."

"Totally the plan" Dirk adds

Kerri nods. "It did, at that. I appreciate it, Dirk. Don't do it again." Firm finality.

"And Dagmar, you know that image of strength largely comes from you. You handled that beautifully."

"Well, only cuz you asked so nice" He says then pets his cat "Anyway,... thanks for going along with the plan. Both of ya"

"As to Serenity..." a bemused look "...interesting that she should be so focused, hm?"

"I swear, that bitch wears me out" he hurumphs "Gets into more trouble...you know what she stole last week?"

"No, what?"

"Well, I meant what I said. Just because I'm at school doesn't mean I'm not here for you. And just because I'm sworn to Ch-.. Brekke, you are Rivervale now."

"A van ... said she couldn't help herself. Had like five trump flags on it and shitty stickers all over... the goons in it left it running while they were smashing a Harris sign. So she jumps in the van and drives off!"

"HA!"

"It's not funny Dagmar, " He grumbles, then "Okay, it's hilarious, but she could go to JAIL, the dumbass. "
