Kerri gives Dagmar a grateful nod and is about to say something in thanks...but the van story takes her by surprise. "She...? Where did she put it?" Very much hoping it isn't hidden in the boat house.

"Like you are an idiot."

"Capice?"

"I had to eat it to hide the evidence... about tapped me out" he says then he looks at Dagmar "Don't try to out mobster talk a redcap, we're the original mob, blueberry." He still isn't getting it "But I agree with you that we look after Kerri's rep. Nobody gets to act like she ain't here and in charge. If we gotta listen to her, everyone better"

"Stop teasing him, Dagmar. He can't see it yet. I think you know what that's like?" A wink.

"And thank you, Dirk. I have to tell you, the idea that you might have turned against the Lodge and me was no small threat."

"Really?" He puffs up proud "I mean, like, me going all gansta would have you worried? Shit, that's ... that's awesome. Thanks!"

"Don't let it go to your head, Dirk."

"Dirk Lee, most wanted" A grin "Nah, wouldn't let THAT go to my head, Big K."

"Oh, boy," she mutters. Then she says, "Have you called your mother to let her know you're okay?"

"Oh shit... I gotta do that. Can I use your phone? they ate my cellphone"

"Be our guest." She gestures to the phone closet, and grins as Mr. Most Wanted goes to check in with mom.

And yeah, Dirk misses the irony to that too, as he sets his cat down carefully and makes the call

Kerri makes sure that Peach gets some chicken gizzards for a treat.

Peach maybe ugly, but she's sweet and grateful. Better make sure Mackerel doesn't steal some

Mackerel gets her own little dish.

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

Kerri nods. "He'll figure it out, eventually. Or she'll smack him over the head with a stolen hammer and then tell him outright." She shrugs. "Hey, want to help with a pastry experiment?"

She leads the way to the kitchen, where pastry experiments commence. --Gone--
