"So? You're still loyal."

"Yeah. Just... just it's different. I dunno."

"I can't see there'd be a problem unless she and Rivervale found themselves on opposite sides of a conflict, and how likely is that?"

Siv ponders this "Mom is keeping her oath to Hemlock, despite the distance. I think she's assuming the same respect to you? And she would see it as respect. We get power from our oaths after all. But, you know, I can get you to Alaska for visits now and then?"

"Right, she got released from service, not from the oath, yeah?"

"Near as I know aye," Siv says "Dagmar, my offer for trips on the Narwhal to Alaska stands but I do get that it will feel odd. Like a part of you is on the other side of Concordia"

She bites on her lip and nods.

"Maybe...Dagmar, for her, maybe you're going to feel like her link back here?"

"I mean, she's got lots of links." A nod to Siv especially.

"Siv and the babies are here."

"But an oath link is different, maybe."

"Maybe."

"I can protect it for her."

"All the parts of it she loves, yeah?"

"Yeah! I mean, you are going to be Storm eventually."

"That's the plan..."

"Yeah, it is. My dad is gonna hold it down for you."

Siv shakes her head , not in denial, but at the situation, "Dagmar, do you not know you've always been Mom's go to of the Wilder group? I've SEEN the worry leave her eyes when she finds out you're on the job. You're her Kith sister, Her House Sister, and a fellow warrioress. You set her mind at ease about many situations as she knows how good you are at what you do."

Sylvi nods agreement. "What she said."

"Oh. Um."

Dagmar's cheeks are burning purple. "I mean, I want to make her proud?"

"Pretty sure you already do. In fact, I'm damn sure she'd make you Storm now if it wouldn't interfere with college. She trusts you like that."

"She's already proud of you, Dagmar" Siv assures her friend

She rubs the back of her neck, ducking her head and curling her shoulders - but there's a tiny smile there, too.

Olgar and Kerri are outside, so they are first to see Brekke and Frank return from a long patrol.

Kerri tenses up a bit but tries to hide it. "All is well?"

Brekke nods. "We are ready here?" She indicates the Lodge with a nod.

Kerri nods back. "Best as I can tell, yes."

Signe takes her position by Brekke's side. Oh Frank can come to.

Oak wags to see them both.

Brekke grins and reaches down to pet Signe briefly.

"Oh, we gotta get stuff out to the tables, c'mon..." Grabbing a tray.

"On it" Siv says and puts on a warm smile, nothing to extreme, and helps take the food out for her folks

((OOC Note: Just to make sure everybody's on the same page -- there are two parts to what's happening at the Lodge today. First is the Thing (a Viking term for a business or government meeting) where the various transfers of titles and authorities will happen. Afterwards (and far more intended for all Rivervale inhabitants) is the Beot, the celebration with food, music, a bonfire, and boasts. Let me know if you want any other clarifications.))

And Vali enters with Gerd. Vali is dressed in a shining breastplate, and has a wooden disk with a norse rune tied about his neck.

Outside, Kerri gives Olgar a brief glance, then turns again to Brekke. "I'm ready when you are, Chieftain."

Siv smiles as she puts the food down. Her own formal garb tonight a traditional norwiegan dress, albeit with Fiona lion symbol added

Brekke puts a hand on Kerri's shoulder, and together they go to enter the Lodge.

Brekke is in her Gwydion formal uniform, the richly-embroidered tunic, trews, and tabard along with her armor.

Olgar has taken off his apron and is ready to support.

Frank follows, also in his formal voile.

Oblivious to the import of this situation, the babies have fallen asleep together in the playpen.

Piper mouths to Siv from under a pile of babies, “Go!” A thumbs up.

Kerri wears voile more formal than her usual, but otherwise not too different:

Siv flashes a grateful look to Piper and Jonas.

Brekke and Kerri both approach the balefire, which is dancing brightly. Late summer flowers have suddenly blossomed in the rafters, and their fragrance drifts in the air.

Dagmar finds a place to stand and watch, leaving room between her and the wall for Symon to duck, if needed.

Even when she can't see him, she can feel Symon's presence lurking about her.
