Siv snorts finding humor in the scoff

Sylvi snorts as well.

Her mouth tugs down. "I understand that, like, in my head."

"You mostly look constipated, Siv."

"No she doesn't... I've seen her constipated" Jonas observes, "She gets this kind of twitchy..."

She nods to Dagmar. "I get it. For me...it doesn't quite feel real, y'know? Like...this is a dress rehearsal or something."

'HEY, no need to share details" Siv hurumphs

"Oh, Ew! Jonas!" Sylvi puts up a hand to ward off the image. "Ick."

The fruit rinsed, Sylvi makes sure that Piper gets first pick (and a napkin), then she puts the bowls out on the tables. "We can move them outside when it's time to eat."

"It doesn't feel real. Ain't in a hurry for it to feel real, but..." A shrug.

She takes a look out the window towards the large bonfire arranged and waiting to be lit in the evening, and nods approval.

"But real it is," Siv nods "And Sylvi is right, we'll survive, the lodge continues. Change happens, whether we think it is good or no. And... my father always dreamed of moving to Alaska, and mom with him . They deserve as much of their happily ever after as they can get"

"I know you're not loving the timing, Siv," Sylvi consoles. "But it's not like you won't be able to reach them at all."

"Aye, the Narwhal's patched up, and they do live near the sea. " She admits "I am being a wee bit selfish I know"

Jonas speaks up "We'll make sure you and the babies have time to visit" It is said as firmly as stone at a mountain base

Siv lets a smile rally at that, "Gonna be weird calling Olgar Storm, no offense, Sylvi. "

"None taken. I totally get it. And..." a quieter tone "...what do we call Mom now? I mean...Chieftain? Chieftess? Chief? We haven't talked about it. It's weird."

Grunt. ("I'm calling Chief Chief.")

"Okay, yeah, I get it, but..." A helpless gesture.

"Well, you have Goldfinch."

"So, like, Kerri should still be mom to you."

"Not when I'm referring to her while talking to somebody else." A sigh. "I guess I'll figure it out as I go along. It just feels...weird."

"But like, for me, Chief is gonna be Chief, and Kerri can be Cheiftain."

"We COULD ask her? " Siv points out "Sides, she's a baroness now. Could use that."

Nose-wrinkle.

"Ugh, don't remind me," Sylvi mumbles.

"Oh could be fun, make your mom twitch. "Your ladyship, how goes the inventory review?' 'Baroness Davidson, do you prefer white or red wine for our meeting tonight?' 'Baroness Kerri, art thou ready for the protest in the case of Peacemaker Dirk vs Mountain Pillar Symon in who done started it?' " Siv actually grins sincerely a bit

"Don't think Kerri'd like it."

"Well, obviously not, hence the temptation, " Siv admits

Sylvi frowns for a moment, but tries to drive off the expression. "I bet you'd get an interesting response, for sure."

Symon has withdrawn a bit, looking thoughtful at the mention of ‘pillars’ and ‘peacekeepers’.

"Don't worry, Sylvi. I wouldn't do it today to be sure and not often. I assure ye" She says

Siv sighs "Wouldn't want folks talking about me being a 'geographic orphan'"

"Thanks, Siv." An honestly grateful look.

Siv notes the intensity of that thanks "I'm sorry, Sylvi. I got so caught up in my folks moving on, that I didn't really consider how worried you'd be for your mother. Don't worry, we've all got her back."

She nods. "It's just...not something I thought would be a situation. But..." A shrug. "Stuff changes. We deal with it."

A harrumph.

Sylvi looks over. "You harrumph'd at me?" Amused.

"Dagmar likes change even less than we do" Siv reminds Sylvi with a smile

"Think of it this way - you're gonna be home, close by, as she gets used to things. That'll be good, right?"

"Yeah, that's true. And I'll totally help her out, where I can."

"And since you are Goldfinch, you can be a fellow freeholder, or her daughter, but you aren't, like... y'know?"

Sylvi looks confused.

"I'm... not sure how this is gonna go with the fealty thing, with Chief so far away."

Siv frowns a bit

"Like, I mean, she won't be YOUR Chief, and you're used to her being your mom. Her relationship with everyone at the lodge is gonna change - even with Vali and Olgar."

"But you and her, you get to still be you and her."

A blink. "Brekke will still be your liege, won't she? I mean...?"

"Brekke is still my liege, she hasn't said anything about releasing the Oath."

"But... I'm here, not in Alaska."
