Gerd is, of course, not to be left out "I can't believe she didn't tell us she was going off to do this"

Brekke gives Frank a pleased look as they go.

Eddie being 'her' dog. Arguably. And certainly Gerd is Edewleis' human

"Edie has grown to be a strong-willed young lady," Brekke says to Gerd.

"And that's good, except ...She's not supposed to be strongwilled against me" Gerd hurumphs then she wines "And we do NOT tell Uncle Vali I said that. He'd laugh so hard"

"Noted," Brekke says.

Brekke greets the horses first as they enter the stable. "Breakfast soon," she tells them. Then goes over to the guest stall. "Edelweiss?"

Edelweiss looks quite proud of her pups, as she is called, and she looks up. She sees Gerd and wags with great energy, then looks at her liter ready for suitable approval from the two leggers in her life

Signe is wisely hanging back. Mama dogs get cranky.

Brekke kneels down and pets Edie's head, then gently touches each pup. "Very handsome children," she compliments the mother.

She picks up the runt and stands to make room for Gerd.

"You done good, Eddie" Gerd agrees, a bit awestruck

The runt is a male, but smaller than his 3 brothers and 2 sisters by at least a quarter, maybe a third.

"Your mother was small in her litter, too," Brekke murmurs to the little pup. She checks him over carefully and listens to his breathing.

Not as strong as his brothers or sisters noise wise, but not wheezing or so weak as to be immediately alarming. He will bear watching

Frank is leaning on/over the stall wall "They're beautiful, Edie."

"We get to name them," Gerd says "The fancy names I mean... obviously they'll get pet names when they find their people." Gerd says petting Eddie "Which won't be too soon, Eddie don't you worry . Though Dame Gladiola will be tutoring them when she visits later."

Eddie wags at Frank's praise, though her eyes are on the runt uplifted

Brekke passes the runt to Gerd to return to Edie. "I suspect Silverwolf will be interested in having us keep this one."

"Born on the fourth of July." Frank observes "There are names in that."

"He is fine, Edelweiss," she assures the mother. "And we will keep him that way."

A nod to Frank. "I do not know the naming conventions they use. I know there is a system...?"

Gerd takes the runt "Well, their loss if they don't know how special the little ones can be. They DO have right of first pick, traditional for those who provdie the stud. And they get anothre besides that."

And Gerd returns the littliest boy to her mom who licks him

"When the time comes," Brekke says, nodding.

Frank shakes his head. "No idea." he confesses about the naming conventions.

"Gladiola told me a bit about it... under 50 characters including spaces and aprosptphies I think? 36 is better."

Brekke refills Edie's water bowl, then sets about tending to the horses and sending them out into the paddock so she can clean their stalls.

"And.." Gerd says "I think it's also illegal to use names that include the word 'champion' or other offical winning titles... but that's show dogs"

"Gerd, you will want to let Dagmar know. She will be eager to see the puppies."

"i'm surprised she hasn't appeared from the ether" Gerd admits

A snort of amusement.

Frank can give Brekke a hand with the horses, getting supplies and such.

Gerd texts Dagmar TXT: Gerd here! Eddie is a mom! Six pups!

And Gerd ponders names still

"We could name them July 4th names , or mix in some Norweigan translations of words like Liberty?"

"Ah. I like that." She thinks. "Yes, that may suit well."

"It is frihet. Liberty."

Gerd grins "See, it could be easier than we thought." She pets Eddie still, yes, she is ignoring the horses

"Frihet." Frank repeats. "Jefferson and Adams?"

"Ha. Perhaps." She pauses in her work to look at the pups. "Firecracker."

Brekke brings the horses' feed buckets out to hang them on the paddock fence.

When she returns, she says, "Gerd, you should travel to Silverwolf today to bring them the news."

Gerd ponders "Well, we could vary them sure. I know for example, because Gwen would NOT stop talking about them... that one popular champion was technically 'K-Run's Park Me In First' for a show name, but the actual dog name was Uno"

Brekke sighs at the names. "Well...I suppose it is not so different from us. We go by many names, according to the situation."

"So we could have Frihet's Jefferson's Hope' for a long name for one" And she nods "I'll text Gwen, though she won't have to be here right away. The Baron might come over as well. "

A smirk "Is there a Norweigan word for Falcon... just asking for a friend"
