The door opens, and the Chieftain and Oak come in from patrol. A glance at the balefire that has just been fed a snack, and then she notes the relaxing troll. "Ah, hello, Jonas."

Connor is rustling around the back door, and steps out, mostly enveloped in a Troll-sized beach towel.

He rises "Oh hello, Chieftain. Pardon I was.. just enjoying the tranquility"

"Mm," Brekke nods. "It is good." And then Connor is there. "Hello, Connor. You have been swimming?" she asks as she gets herself a mug of coffee.

A questioning look to Jonas -- would he like one as well?

Dagmar approaches shortly after, pausing on the porch to brush any remaining hay from her clothing.

"Gerd wasn't home so I had to drop myself into the Lake." He says, the towel over his head and wrapped around him now like a hooded super hero cape.

A chuckle at that. "She definitely takes after Vegard."

Connor is a bit solemn, but he brightens at the sight of Dagmar.

It seems Jonas may have dozed off before indicating whether he wanted coffee. Brekke gets him a mug, anyway, and puts it near where he's sitting, then takes her own seat by the balefire.

Dag nods at the others when she enters. "Hey."

"Dame Dagmar. I am glad to see both of you. What is the news from SilverWolf?"

She exhales. "Oh. Yeah. Hi."

Jonas missed the look.

"Nadeen did something stupid and self-sacrificial, but it worked out in the end?"

Brekke blinks at Dagmar. "That...is a very brief telling."

Jonas puts away his cellphone after checking a message "That does sound.... brief"

"Dagmar played a concert and talked to a cat in the wall. And then my ears fell off." Connor offers, helpfully.

A frown.

"He's not exactly wrong."

"Um."

"Played a concert? Ears?" A baffled look from Connor to Dagmar.

"So... Dame Calanthe had been using magic to mess with Baron Aiden's memories to keep him from grieving for Dahlia."

She sips her coffee. Maybe that will help.

Jonas rises and gets himself some coffee while the others talk

"Nadeen has been investigating that past and what all happened before."

"Nadeen broke the focus of Calanthe's chicanery magic stuff. But it released a bad chimera, not a ghost, that was angry and had Aiden's memories of Dahlia."

She grows serious and leans forward. "Dame Calanthe did this." A slow nod. It rings true.

"It was a bird." Connor adds, with a bit of a frown. "And the gun was REALLY loud. And hurt my ears. But that's not why they fell off. I'm pretty sure, anyways."

"Angry Not-Ghost was dangerous and sucking up glamour, and also thought she was Dahlia, sort of? Magic." A gesture to explain 'it's complicated' without going further.

Brekke frowns, following the story a bit haphazardly between Dagmar and Connor, but definitely getting the gist of what Dagmar is saying.

"This sounds like a very twisted chimera."

"Then Vali had a vision, and I was given a head's up, too, that Nadeen had a damned hair-brained plan to merge with the not-ghost and give herself up so Aiden could have Dahlia, or an aproximation of her."

"That is when you left," she nods, understanding the sequence better.

"Vali's vision was that the Sun or Son were a key, and Nadeen had similar notions, and my source said likewise? And.. yeah. Connor wanted to go help her."

"There was a wolf in the salt." He nods.

"Sylvi and Gerd beat us up there... I drove." She shrugs.

"Too late to stop Nadeen, at that. Not to mention that SIlverwold hides their balefire room behind some kind of tricky magic maze."

"Oh, a bird! A bird showed us the way, but then it got stuck. Maybe it was afraid of the cat in the wall. Not the OTHER bird. This is a DIFFERENT one." He clarifies... not a whole lot.

"Vespa, Nadeen's kestrel."

Jonas looks a the Chieftain questtioning in a troll way ("Should I keep silent about this?")

"So, okay. Total shit show."

Connor covers his mouth.

"One of the trolls beat herself up in the mirror. She hit herself a LOT, 'til Dagmar made her stop. Blood came out of her face, lots of it. But Sylvi fixed her with a glass of juice."

"Nadeen is already merged with the not-ghost Dahlia. Calanthe is there, pissed off, her magic dealings exposed - she manipulated Aiden's memories, and directly did some stuff to make him blame Connor for Dahlia's death." Scowl.

"I... yeah. Big mess. Nadeen had a mind to use Sylvi's magic to.. uh.. restore AIden's proper memories to him?"

"I don't know exactly how it all was to work. But Calanthe, pissy, ordered her Thanes to shoot Nadeen-slash-Dahlia..."

A quick affirmative nod to Jonas, and then she continues listening.

She's sure Connor's contributions would make sense if she had been there.

"Shoot. With mortal bullets."
