"No chief, it's not" Lucia answers

"There are these JERKS at Caer Falken, and I could go right up there and make them eat their smug little words..."

The mug was half-way to her lips, but she sets it down, her brow furrowing. "Caer Falken? Lucia, please explain."

"It's Goldfinch, the nobles of Caer Falken council know about it, they're not sure about this mews thing, when I pointed out it was perfectly within your right as a baroness to assign commoners a hold, they shifted tactics. They want to appoint a SUPERVISOR to 'guide' the untitled and 'advise' the Freeholder," Lucia answers

She listens...and her eyes narrow. "Who said this?" she asks, her voice lowering.

Lucia gulps a bit, then answers "It wasn't anyone counmcil member, but Ser Rothymyr seemed to be the ring leader of the movement."

The frown has turned into a glower. "Ser Rothymyr," she repeats. "What did the Freeholder say in response?"

"The Count wasn't there, he was attending to a matter.. " She explains

"No, Sylvi. What did Freeholder Sylvi say?" She looks around the group. "She does know?"

"No, she wasn't there. Why would she be?" Lucia shrugs

Brekke blinks. "Nobody has told the Freeholder of this threat upon her authority?" Another look around the group. "Siv, please inform Piper and Sylvi. They both stand to lose a great deal if this happens. As for me...I must speak with Ser Rothymyr." She doesn't literally roll up sleeves, but that's her tone. She heads for the door...leaving her coffee untouched.

"Hey. Don't...." Symon whispers, but not sure if the Troll will hear in the mood she's in.

"I just came back so hadn't had time to..." Lucia cant speak up "And.. I repsresent Rivervale more than Goldfinch so Ithoguht this was the right place?"

"Mom.." Siv coughs "Symon is trying to talk to you if you've a moment?" SHE did hear and repeats

He frowns.

She turns, scowling but listening.

"Do you really think it will help proving the new freehold autonomy if the Chieftain goes in to defend the first challenge they face?"

"I think this is a battle that Sylvi needs to fight." He shrugs a bit.

"This is still an insult to Chief, though."

"Oh, I have no intent of defending the freehold. But my decision about creating the freehold has been challenged. I defend my own reputation."

A nod at Dagmar's comment.

"Not the way I see it. But I'm just a common slug." He shrugs.

"Nothing common about you" Siv snorts

That does make Brekke pause. "Your position is noted, Symon. You may even be right. But I will allow Dagmar to help you understand Gwydions." She turns and heads out.

He rolls his eyes... but notedly, only AFTER she is not only turned, but the door shut as well.

"It is an insult to her decision - like, saying she doesn't have the right to set up a mews. Or whatever, in her own home."

"I... guess. I admit, I don't know my ass from teakettle in noble politics."

"First instinct just felt like big momma going to talk to someone who isn't playing nice in her kids treehouse."

"Chief's still a Gwydion Baroness, even though she's a troll. She outranks most of those jagoffs, but titled commoners don't get treated the same by lots of sidhe."

Siv replies "Dagmar's the right of it. Falcons are... let's say that if the CHIEF isn't going to expect Goldfinch to bow and scrape, sure as hell no punk noble across the road is going to get to demand they do to them"

"So she can't let an insult to her decisions stand - because if Chief were a sidhe, they wouldn't be carping on like this."

He nods slowly. "I see that."

"Feel kinda sorry for this Rothymyr, though."

Lucia answers "That's only because you haven't met him"

"Not sure I will now, after the Chief has her way with him." A touch amused.

Snerk.

Siv says "Frankly, I almost wish now that I think of it that Dagmar had been the one after all. Not that mom doesn't have her right, but .. and tell me if I'm wrong, Dagmar, but I think Dags was looking forward to slappihng him so hard with a glove to the face the guy lost teeth"

"Right?"

"Can I keep the teeth?"

"There's a good market for sidhe teeth."

Grin.

"Why? want to plant them and create an army of jerks?" Lucia asks with a smile

"Don't steal my plans."

Lucia chuckles softly "My bad"

"Yeah, well." A shrug, and he looks to Dagmar. She promised him a chat.

"Oh.. " Lucia reads something "Hey Siv, come with me a bit? I wanted to talk about Pennons."

"WHy just me?" Siv asks

"Because, I was thinking it might invove boat races..." Lucia leads her off

"you mean SHIP races..." SIv's interested but old habits
