Jack Flap grins and directs "Keeep the line straight, please." He looks up "Chief, we're adding a row!"

We in this case apparently Buck, with Jack as 'supervisor'

Brekke blinks. "Buck, I hope this is willing service?"

"He beat me skip rock far and square" A wink from Buck, and a bit of a lie. Clearly someone threw a match . then he adds "it's just one row, Chief"

"A WHOLE row" Jack asserts "We'll have more room for flowers or food!"

A nod at the subterfuge. "Well, this is a fair deal, then. But Jack, I must interrupt the plowing a moment. Buck, I have something that belongs to you." She approaches and presents him with the medallion.

"Well I'll be..." He sets the plow down and takes it "Where ever did you find it?" It glows in his hand

"It was among the items left behind at Leech's compound."

He slips it on, "Chieftain, I can't thank you enough. feel like I've had my right hand returned"

She watches. "What is its nature for you, Buck?"

Then his eyes fall to her own 'grim hand' and he stammers "Ah, when I said that I didn't mean to... " A blush And the big man grows even more unsure how to apologize "I mean... On YOU it.. wait I.."

Jack Flap is a kid, so he just says "You think a meddalion would give her hand back?"

A blink of confusion, then she realizes where he's looking...and she chuckles and shakes her head. "This is so very much a part of me now, I do not think of it as a loss. No apology is necessary, Buck."

"More like a guide, Chieftain. I .. it's like being lost in the wood, then looking up througgh a clearing and seeing where the North star is. Does that make sense?"

Her brows furrow. "Do you mean literally, as with knowing your location? Or something more figurative?"

"Bit of both... It does in fact help me find what direction is what, but it also seems to be.. wel, if I had to call it something, I'd say it was my 'don't do that' stone." Amused "Like a wiser friend putting a hand on your shoulder if you're about to not think things through. It doesn't make me wiser, just let me know when I'm about to be really foolish"

"Mm." Brekke looks impressed. "A valuable guide, indeed. I am glad you have it back."

"So am I" He says "Pardon I need to get back to plowing this row"

'Yes, of course. Thank you for your patience, Jack. I will leave you two to it."

"No problem, Chief Shacklebrekker" Jack gives a troll salute

A salute back, and then she remembers something. "Oh, a moment...Buck, I have sent word to a hold where I think you will find a chance to do honest work, as you requested. I wait to hear back from them."

"Grand. Please let me know when they respond" He says

Another nod, and she departs, leaving them to their gardening.

Jack looks justt a bit sadder, someone is leaving. He's not a troll, it's hard to hold his feelings in. He just got to KNOW the centaurs, but the duty of a kid is to make thing easier for adults so he looks at Buck and says "I hope all you guys see all sorts of cool stuff at your new homes.. and are.. very happy" A breath

Buck smiles "Thanks, Kiddo. Of course, I'll have to visit I bet whever I go. " A nod "Want to see what you've grown here while I was away"

Jack smiles just a b it at that, and the sadness doesn't hurt quite as much
