"And so the centaurs are being set away" Jack explains to Connor "to new homes"

"I'm gonna miss Buck. He's cool"

Connor frowns a bit, melancholy but then brightens up. "Buck is going to the DeBuke's? We can see him at school!"

"Oh yeah!" A surprised look att that notion "Maybe he'll help with classes?"

"I hear Ganbold might go all the way to Brightwinds. Why can't we send them Lane instead?"

"I'm sure Lane would be happy to hear that we want to send her away." Connor says, giving Jack a doleful look. "Or maybe we're full on boys, so they will send you to Brightwinds, and keep Ganbold here?"

"Aww Connor, don't be that way" Jack looks guiltily at his hooves

He gives Jack a grin, relenting a bit. "Having Lane around should be fun, though. I wonder.... with TWICE as many hooves, can she run faster than you?"

"Maybe on an open path" he admits "But for hills, annd sharp turns? I got her beat! I am satyr, hear me roar" a beat "roar" he adds at the same volume to confirm it

"Roar!" Connor roars too! This is fun!

"I think my Knight is going to rehome her catbird." He adds. "She coos on it like it's CJ, but it's a cat. And it's So. Loud!"

"SSQUAAWK" the satyr boy says, that time louder than his 'roar'

"It might go live with Count Hemlock." His tail wags at the mention of the nice fellow who gave him a cape. "Maybe it will fly around during court and poo on someone!" Laughing!

SNERK and the satyr breaks out. Satyrs can be like that . They get caught up in laugher easy

"EWWWW" A voice says behind them

It's lane, "That sounds gross"

"Depends on if he's like a cat and poos in a box of dirt, or like a bird!" Connor says wisely.

"Well, long as Dame Dagmar likes the gryphon I hope she keeeps it! Dame Dagmar is nice" Lane nods

Often, Jack disagrees with her, but this time he doesn't "She's cool!"

Connor can see the kids really think so.

So if ever there was a time for squire pride... this is it

He puffs up proudly! "She's the BEST." No lies there.

"Maybe I'll be a squire when I'm sained" Lane beams "Did you know Tiara is a knight?"

Jack blinks "She is?"

"Yup. Her sword made her remember! " Lane says "I'd make a good squire, as lonng as I don't have to fight or do dirty work"

"THat's part of what being a squire IS" Jack reminds

'Oh" Lane ponders "nevermind"

"But dirty work is part of the duty. And then you get patted on the head and told you're a good boy." His tail wags.

Lane beams "you're the BEST boy"

Jack huffs "I'm a boy"

"Yes" Lane smiles sweetly as if to say 'and I stand by what i said'

Connor tosses arms around both and gives a hug. "We're the best! Shadowpaw, and Hoof Edition!"

Both of his friennds blush a bit

They do not argue with the leader of the Shadow paw clan for he is their buddy

A squish and he lets go. "Now let's go make a race track so we can practice! If you're both the fastest, we'll win ALL the races next pennons..."

"And you go on on four legs too, trus me, it's faster" Lane assures

"mmph" Jack says but grins as they ggo off to race
