Siv takes a long drag on the rum. It's her own rum, and damn it, she's going to have it. The rip in her leggings is natural, as it looks like she got a sword wound there. Ditto for the torn cloth of her shoulder. They've been self tended to, that is bandaged.

Nadeen enters "Is Dagmar or Sylvi here , Knight Captain? I..." A blink "Siv, what the hell happened to you?"

"I had some rum" The troll says "Don't worry, just my second glass."

"This trollish tendency to act like wounds are nothing grows tedious even on trolls I like" Nadeen says crisply

"Ouch" Siv observes

"You know what I mean," nadeen's eyes narrow

"Nadeen, I really don't give a damn about my wounds right now," Siv says , a touch sad.

Sounds in the kitchen, plates being put away.

Nadeen frowns "I see. You're melancholy or sad, and drinking. Mmm. I take it I cannot cheer you?"

"I doubt it" Siv says

"Well, if only HEARTH KERRI were around" Nadeen says those words a bit louder towards the kitchen

Siv shoots the Varich a Look

"Pardon?" A voice from the kitchen, and then she peeks out. "Hello ladies. You called, Nadeen?"

"oh? What a coincidence" The varich says perhaps fooling no one, "I was just talking to Knight Captain Siv about what your opinion might be to find her drinking rum , wounded, and clearly depressed"

Siv sighs and pours a third glass "Cheers, Hearth" Raising it

A blink, and she comes out. "Siv? What happened?" A concerned brief examination of the damage, not touching her yet.

"Got into a duel.. lost" Siv says glumly

"Now I'm drinking, " She adds

Nadeen puts the invitations down where Sylvi and Dagmar might find them.

"A duel? Why? Was it a matter of honor?" Then a nod towards her wounds. "And do you want me to heal those?"

"Sort of... " A pause "You know what a serf is?" A pause "Course you do. Did you know that apparently it's still a thing?"

"And heal them if you want... not that I deserve the healing"

"Siv, stop that. Tell me what happened." She picks up a few napkins from the sideboard and starts folding them one by one...fancy fan folds, and glamour gathering in the folds of each one.

"So.. I run into a noble... and he's dragging this sluagh along. Chained.Chains shouldn't hold a sluagh so for a mmmoment I wonder if he's one of those Thallian but no.. whispery, toothless.. but somehow chained. Magic chains I guess."

"Sounds right."

"So the noble has someone shackled in the land of the shacklebreaker. And I get curious. And he says 'this is my serf, and he is being taken home to be punished' " Siv watches the gathering "I ask the crime. And the crime? Fleeing the fief without permission. That was the crime. Travling without permission of the lord"

She presses a napkin against the wound on her shoulder, and another on another spot.

Siv winces. The wound is deeper than Siv let on.She's lucky she can move that arm

Kerri frowns. "Which fief, Who was the lord?" Another wound gets another napkin, and she notes how Siv's soaking up the glamour.

"Turns out the chains were magical, could only be moved by the one who put them on... or... the one who beat them in a duel. Well, guess what I tried?" Siv says

Nadeen frowns

Kerri nods. "You did the right thing, Siv, whether or not you succeeded."

"The sluagh is still with the lord, presumably." She frowns thoughtfully.

"He took .. 'his serf'. Never seen a Balor move that fast... Baron Harkson . I .. don't know the fief" Siv says "And the fact I didn't get that information kicked in as I lay there on the ground bleeding. Some daughter of the Shacklebreaker huh? That poor sluagh dragged off... no better for having known me"

Kerri shakes her head. "I suspect there's still a way to find out. We just have to be resourceful. You got his name, his house, and some amount of description. We can start there." She sighs. "You're right that it would have been better if the sluagh could have claimed sanctuary here before he was found. Hm...did you get the sluagh's name?"

She removes the napkins to check how well the wounds are healed. Siv definitely took a beating.

"Time to do some spying you mean. I can do that.." Siv says "Sounds like I have a mission"

"Oh the sluagh's name I recall.. Wenceslaus" A pause "or so Harkson called him"

"Not alone, Siv. I think you ought to work on this with others." A deep breath. "And...we need to respect that the lord will be back in his own demesne."

Nadeen makes a face.

Kerri notices. "Nadeen?"

"It's a small Barony in Texas. . Rather Rural. I know, because I considered marrying the man" Nadeen says "Remember my search for a husband?"

Kerri blinks, startled. "You considered...." She stops and forces her expression back to neutral. "I see."

"I was looking ALL Sorts of Barons at the time" She says "Back when I was desperate to help my father..."

"What barony? What town is closest" Siv rises a bit unsteadily "I need to fix this"

Kerri frowns and pulls Siv back down. "You're not ready."

She looks her over again, checking if there are any wounds she missed.

Siv glares, but sits

Mmm seems to be healing up.

"You're shaky, Siv. Maybe...do you feel ill at all?"
