Siv takes a breath, and goes to seek her dad out. After Samhain did not mean next summer and you know it, Siv Waveborne

she goes to her dad's desk and sees if he is there

He is! Reading and writing, although the last more slowly and carefully.

"AHem" She says and waits

"Mmm?" He looks up over his spectacles.

"Sorry to trouble you, dad, but you have a few minutes?"

"Of course." He sets his things down. "No trouble."

"I know it's been awhile, but do you recall .. my dance for Pennons?"

He clears his throat. "Yes."

"Yes, well, mother kind of gloamed in on the idea that perhaps Piper's music and my dancing was a bit.. too in sync?" Cautious

He thinks. "Surely you practiced together before the performance."

"We did, but," A pause "Well dad, mom found out aobut something and she thought you should be told. I am not sure you needed to know, but if it's obvious to many then you will hear about and I don't want to have you hear it from a stranger. You know how some Fiona are rather wild and play the field widely? And some are utterly focused one person?"

"Yes."

"I'm kind of in the middle. I'm strictly devoted to my girlfriend and boyfriend" She waits to see his reaction.

Hard to read his expression behind the beard.

She watches the eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul.

Damn those glasses

"Thank you for telling me."

"You okay? I didn't want to tell you around Samhain because, well, your protective nature then takes odd directions"

He nods. "Thoughtful of you. Thank you, Siv."

"Thank you, dad. AH.. I kind of expected to bother you more, and I'm sorry if it does trouble you. But best no lies and all" A HUG "Thank you for understanding"

and then she bounds out, kind of happy it went so well. Not exactly a blessing but I guess it didn't bother him that much

Frank watches her go, and spends several minutes with his head in his hands.

SO things might get awkward when Jonas enters later

"Salutations, Mountain"

Frank is pouring a glass of cider. "Jonas."

He reports "The Peacemaker and thanes seem to have the town taken care of. There's some minor nervousa related to politics. Dirk ah.. ate one, but he seems none the worse for it"

"Well, he wouldn't." Frank agrees.

"Zane seems a bit down lately. I thought it might be samhain lingering. Has he been doing his work here with the records? He tends to take pride in being a pillar"

"Samhain can be a difficult time." Frank thinks to recollect if Zane's been present.

Well, he's been going to the DeBuke school... and he has come in, worked. But he has been less talkative lately

"I'll check in with him."

"Yes, sir"

Frank takes his glass back to his desk.

"Anything you need me to do sir?"

"Not that I know of, Jonas. Kerri might have something, or Anne Marie."

"Anne Marie is fine, she had me run some errands earlier. I'll check with the hearth"

Frank nods and tries to figure out where he left off.

And Jonas goes off to seek the Hearth

Nope. Frank's train of thought has derailed. He might be able to get back to it after he speaks with Brekke but.... for now, he'll sip his cider and watch out the window.

He sees Jonas out there, he must have gone thorugh the kitchen door after not finding her. He does find Siv, who kisses him lustily under the leaves.

Or, watching the Balefire is good too. Yeah. Balefire.

The balefire seems to share a sense of maytrdom. She supposes Fiona have their place, but let's not let the House take too much influence here , please

Frank is only faintly aware of the gist of it. As many hours as he's spent before the 'Fire, he does not have Brekke's bond with it.

Truth. Yet it seems to be looking out for him. Perhaps at the Chieftain's wish

It would not surprise Frank in the least.

Olgar comes to the door, kicks the excess leaves off, then comes in

Frank grunts a greeting.

Olgar grunts back then "how goes?"
