Tove says "I just want to help and I feel.. so helpless here? There's no one TOO help I..."

And Brekkee appears with a flash before the balefire

Brekke blinks and staggers...and settles heavily into her chair with a harrumph.

Tove moves to her "Chief! "

Connor blinks and moves over to pat her hand... "Chief?"

"CHIEF" Jack joins in

"Gerd sent me back early. We were successful. All are returning." She looks worn out.

And bloody.

"These are cold iron wounds" Tove hisses under her breath "Three inches more and it might have struck a kidney"

Connor whines subvocally, and looks to Tove. "How do we fix her? The micky mouse bandaids aren't big enough."

"Connor, go find Hearth Kerri in the kitchen, if she's not, return here.. if she's there tell her we have need of her"

Connor zips off with the speed of quicksilver, checking all of the places Kerri might be.

Jack swallows "and me?"

"Jack I want you looking out the window for the arrival of the others"

Then tove blushes "WIth your approval ,Chieftain"

Connor finds Kerri quickly enough, and soon she's following him with a large glass of mead.

Brekke nods wearily at Tove's instruction.

"Chieftain, drink this," the Hearth orders.

And knowing better than to contradict the Hearth, Brekke does so. This is no great hardship -- it is good mead. Plus...it's cantripped with HeatherBalm.

Connor vanishes, and when he comes back, he's in pup form, and he hesitantly approaches. Not sure if she's still upset with him, he's been somewhat skirting around her the past couple days... but now he pads up and, if not stopped, will hop up to curl on her lap.

Brekke sighs her thanks as she hands the glass back to Kerri. "I will take the armor off...in a few minutes...coffee would be good." And suddenly there's a puppy in her lap. She gives a half-grin and rests a hand on him.

He lick the hand, each touch of his warm tongue making her feel a little more herself as the balefire and the pooka help restore her glamour.

He can't heal, but he IS cute, and that's a bit of healing itself after all the ugly she saw today.

Jack says "I don't see the truck!"

Tove sighs "Jack.. wait until you DO see something"

"OH RIGHT"

Kerri gives Connor/Buddy an approving nod as she puts a large mug of black coffee withing Brekke's reach. But the Chieftain, it seems, is already dozing.

And Jack quiets... then says "The ship! It's here"

"Will you go out and welcome them, Jack?" Kerri quietly sets about taking off the parts of Brekke's armor that can be removed without waking her too much. She's had some practice at this.

Jack races out "The Chief is here! BOY Gerd you'd be in trouble if it was the lake she landed in..."

Leavingg the Hearth to deal with clean up and a snoozing liege

Buddy slides off her lap, and Connor quietly helps. He undoes buckles, or just holds pieces as instructed. He is good at helping.

The lodge is abustle, and yet... most find themselveves moves AROUND the chief.. sure, all need a bit of glamour, but the Chief needs quiet, and rest, and she will get it.

When Tove finds out Dagmar did not come straight in, she looks deeply troubled and paces anew

Despite Gerd assuring her

Piper asks permission, then disappears upstairs to take a long shower, and hopefully borrow a shirt.

She's directed to one of Siv's short skirts which, on her will llook like a long skirt

Symon goes to sit with Kerri, sharing with her his counts of how many people they rescued, how many kids there were. And he watches forthe truck to arrive, wanting to speak with that crescent-scarred woman. "She's at least kinain... maybe more." He confides in the Hearth.

And news comes in.. there is a boggan clean up crew clearing out the textile factory as a favor to the Chief

"Well, that was something," Sir Carowyn says, sipping from his cup as he looks to Sparrow. "Regent, are you all right?"

"I look forward to hearing from the others - they are also striking today."

"But yes, I think that was a good thing. Ann Marie is getting them to Canada..."

"Contacts with the Kingdom of Northern Ice and the like are handy" He says "By now the others are on their way. I know you must be worried about Baron August and Baroness Coradel but they are skilled"

Sally Mae says "Are you staying with us a bit longer, Sparrow?" She lays a plate with a slice of pie before her, and one for Carowyn, then winks at him.

He smiles

A smile. "A little longer. I have a job!"

"Two, actually"

"This pie looks fantastic, thank you Sally Mae."
