"Is it cheating to sing a song that might have nostalgic ties with the lady of the hold who I guess is also the judge of the contest?" A bit of an impish look.

"I mean, aren't you supposed to know your audience?"

A brow. "I do not know about cheating...." And she nods at Dagmar's justification.

And she is distractedly humming it to herself...

"I think Jessica will make a fair decision. She might, however, see it as a message."

"Besides...it is a kindness to introduce the song to her people. So that they know her better."

"And it's pretty."

Vali says "Crowd reading is crucial to a court troubadour.... actually to any minstrel"

A laugh. "I'm no court anything, nor a minstrel. I just like to sing."

And wooosh .... Adam returns sword in hand. Gerd with him

.... and Adam staggers slightly on arrival.

Gerd says "the really big news? hte magic is affecting him like a title less sidhe, rather than a mortal kinian. Just FYI"

Vali raises a brow "A point. he should pop under taht sort of thing. " He motions to the sword

Eyebrow.

"Pop??"

"Hatch." Adam mutters. He takes the sword over to Vali, reluctant to release it.

"I guess it's not really a chrysalis..."

A nod.

"An awakening."

"Awaken sounds so much better. Why didn't I think of that one, babychick?"

Vali takes the sword from Adam, unless Adam won't let go

He does let go.

And Piper gets another quick grin.

"When I kenned the sword, it felt... portentious. Like, powerful.... but I'm not... couldn't quite explain how."

Vali will close his eyes, and take a slow breath

"And Zane cast a spell on it, it spoke, and then he said it dripping with Fate." Adam adds.

Brekke sets aside her mug and leans forward, watching Vali carefully.

Frank is watching as well over his half-moon glasses; a flower is lodged behind one ear.

Vali's eyes open "I can tell that it has a strong sense of Da'an...dripping with fate is a bit dramatic, but might fit" He nods "but I'm not getting a vision off it now" he says then shrugs "No idea what it means or will do."

Eyebrow.

Adam will take it back as soon as he can.

"Sorry I couldn't do more for you there, Adam. Maybe some lore can be found on it" A shrug

"That's ok, Sir Vali. I mean, you tried."

Brekke looks...surprised.

"Ask anyone, I can be very trying" he gives a small smile

After a moment, she says, "I see." A nod.

Dagmar looks over at the Chief.

Brekke does not look back at Dagmar. Not right now.

Gerd snorts "Not touching that"

A small laugh.

Frank lifts an eyebrow.

"I appreciate you coming to try, Vali. Thank you."

"Yeah, thank you." Adam adds.

Piper blinks, but gives Adam a winning smile.

"Anytime, Chieftain" he says

"And...Adam...I understand you have spoken with Anne Marie and Dirk. All is settled there?"

"Yes, Chief."

"Did Anne Marie go for the group hug?" Vali asks

"We shook."
