"Sorry, she had me do it once. I Don't know how.. I out rank her...didn't matter." Vali sighs

Gerd looks impressed "you and dirk shook hands? Huh. That's.. mature" She seems surprised

Brekke nods agreement with Gerd's assessment. "I am glad to hear it. I cannot have you three work together if you are at each other's throats." Her nod includes Dagmar in the comment.

"Mmph."

Adam looks hesitantly at Dagmar.

Dagmar is a big blue rock.

Then he leaves Piper's side and crosses to Dagmar, and stands in front of her. He offers his hand.

"....What?"

"Shake? Bygones, and all that? I mean it, Dagmar. I know things have been... weird. I'm sorry."

Brekke watches for a moment, but then focuses on her coffee.

Brow-furrow.

Piper is softly drumming the Rivervale Ode tune on her knee... trying to commit to memory.

"I'll do my duty, of course."

Vali hears that, looks at Brekke with a 'see what you did to the girl' expression

Adam lets his hand hang there, outstretched.

A brow at Vali.

Vali knows when to back out of a brow battle

Dagmar's arms are folded.

Adam takes a breath, nods, drops his hand. "Ok." He returns to Piper.

Brekke watches Dagmar and Adam...then clears her throat. "The two of you need to speak. Now. " She nods toward the door.

Dagmar tenses. "Chief..." A protest.

A soft murmur to Piper.

A brow. "I could go with you." A suggestion that's not really an alternative.

Adam gives Piper a little smile, a soft shrug, and squeezes her hand. Then he goes to the door and steps outside to wait.

Gerd gives Dagmar a sympathetic look

A twitch of her jaw.

Brekke stands. "A moment," she says to the others. Then she heads to the door.

Dagmar stays put, expression growing stonier and colder.

"Dame," Brekke pauses at the door. "Please."

She follows, shoulders stiff.

"Well, this isn't tense at all" Gerd frowns

Piper had murmured back to Adam, given his hand a squeeze back and watched him go. She bites her lip a little, and remarks quietly, "I wish she hadn't pushed her. If Dagmar is forced to try to be friends, won't she just... resent him? Maybe it would be better to just... let it go for now."

And quickly "Not that I know better than the chief."

Frank clears his throat in a deep rumble. "Piper. Would you care for something to drink or eat?" He stands and goes towards the kitchen. "It has gone on long enough." About Adam and Dagmar.

She remembers suddenly that they'd planned to check out the kitchen - and her stomach betrays her with a noise at the suggestion.

"The Chief wouldn't press if she didn't think it could hinder the lodge," Vali adds "And Dagmar is more mature than she was."

"I didn't help the situation." She adds softly. "I didn't know they were dating when I got here. I SHOULD have asked."

Frank glances back at Piper, smiles.... or at least his beard moves... and he steps into the kitchen.

"How are you supposed to know TO ask?" Gerd points out

"And come on, let's get some food in you" She addss

She nods and heads kitchen-wards. "I... guess you're right. I just don't want to be thought of as a... you know. Poacher."

Gerd says "Look, Dagmar gave you some distance, and resented you some. But as she's gotten to know you, she warmed up.. or was I imagining that?"

"No, Dagmar is great. She's been really nice to me."

"But... I... " A small frown. "Adam and I had to have a talk earlier, about relationship boundaries. Some things I thought... maybe people just knew or I took for granted. And maybe that was part of what went south with those two."

Sounds from the kitchen indicate Frank is finding something to eat and drink.

Gerd ponders "look, the blow out ..the most recent blow out, between Dirk and Adam was largely my fault. In trying to help I made it worse. .. so be careful how you interpose yourself in this one. Adam is your boyfriend so I guess you have a right but I'd step carefully in trying to play peacemaker. Heck, I'm worried about the Chief" She is in the kitchen as well and grabs something "Hey, we have some left over cheese pizza. No meat toppings. That your style?"

"Anything is great, really. I admit I was hoping to find a hidden stash of something baked by Sally May or Kerri. "

Yep, Frank's got those leftovers out, there's a bowl of fruit, and there's some bread and cheese..... he's pulled cider out too.
