I didn't make her do that, that's her choice, and yet, HER Lifestyle and choice, even as an unseelie, is somehow wrong... and something to save her from ? Our own house has someone who won't leave unless I bargain for it, and yet, I'm being told I'm opportunistic. Maybe I am. I'm not sure why that in itself is such a crime as it helps me provide for my family. We messed up with Lily... but we weren't given hardly any time to correct this. Just not so subtle hints to comply or .. vague 'else'"

Brenda comes down the steps

"If you detect an 'or else' in what I offer, you are mistaken, Kyle," Brekke says evenly. "However, I am concerned. Such changes in court do not simply happen." She turns to Brenda. "Brenda, Kyle has declined my offer, but I now make this offer to you. I wish to cast a cantrip to help you understand how it is that you moved to your unseelie nature, so that you might be better prepared for it in the future."

"She is," Kyle says "Despite what Kerri seems to think I believe, her own woman"

Kerri looks like she is about to bite her tongue in half, but she doesn't take that bait.

Brenda looks unsure for a moment. SHe does love her husband, but there is no question who is the power here. Then she says to her husband, "She has gifts. I will chance it. For the children"

And she trots closer to the Chieftain "do I just..hold still or do you need me to do something?"

"Thank you," Brekke says, then gestures her to a chair. "Be comfortable. You need do nothing." And she prepares her bunk.

The satyress sits down

Brekke takes a bit of fresh wax dripping from one of the candles, still hot, and molds it into a ring shape in her fingers, careful not to snap it. When it is cool and formed, she offers it to Brenda. "Take this, hold it in your closed hand, that all you answer me may have the ring of truth."

And she does, bending, complying, like a reed in a strong current

Kyle looks at his wife with protective love and concern.

Brekke looks to Kyle. "Witness." A nod to the others to include them. Then she leans close to whisper to Brenda: "When you turned unseelie in recent days, what caused the shift?"

As if she were talking in her sleep "Autumn Glamour in SPring time, dripped onto me like honey...soaking, filling... and then the dreams... dreams that awoke the winter in me, dreams of service and power gained through it... dreams of ambition by serving in a shadow of the strong.... bound yet master of a master's attention, taken, yet engulfing what I am taken by and showing my power over the one who has power over me..." a fond smile

Gerd turns BRIGHT purple

And Kyle looks stoic but under that still protective of his wife.

Brekke maintains as neutral an expression as she can manage. "What was the source of this Autumn Glamour?"

"A she devil on a crusade"

A blink of surprise, a glance to Kyle. "This she devil must have had a reason for this action. What was the reason or goal?"

"Wait, Nab? " Kyle blinks "It must be Nab. And I don't..." He pauses "We grounded Adam. Told him he couldn't go certain places. The apartment ... at the time Tequilla to a teen seemed totally irresponsible"

"to help Adam" She whispers "And get us to 'loosen up'"

The front door slams open. "NAB???"

Brekke straightens. "Thank you, Brenda."

And she turns to look at Adam. Her expression is Not Friendly.

Adam stands up against it bravely.

"Nab!"

"I do not believe she is here," Brekke says stonily. "Yelling for her will not change this. Adam, sit down."

And the cantrip ends as Brekke no longer whispers

"No." He dashes into the night .....

Kyle blinks "Son?" And chases after

And keeps going "Adam...stop"

"Nab?"

Brenda blinks "What's going on? " She rises

Brekke is NOT happy about that. But she lets Kyle go, and she turns to Brenda. "Adam came here, looking for Nabuni. Your husband has gone after him. Please sit again. I have questions."

"But I'm faster I could catch him" she says . yet she does remain

"Let Kyle do this, please. Brenda, do you remember what you said under the cantrip?"

"Yes," she says "it was a bit like I was just..rambling, but yes"

"Good. Do you understand? Nabuni forced your court change, to benefit your son's desires." Brekke sounds grim.

"Adam would never hurt us" she says "Though I admit I didn't much care for that little chimera."

She wrings her hands looking troubled

"Adam would never hurt you intentionally, just as you would never hurt Lily intentionally. However, I think he may have set events in motion without adequate consideration of the consequences."

"I need to talk to him" she says

"Yes, you do." Brekke gives her a careful look, kenning....

Unseelie glamour , she's filled with it

"Brenda...I am concerned that, in your current state, if you talk to Adam, he will convince you that he is in the right. Let your husband speak with him for now."

She bristles a bit

"Do you think otherwise?"

"I think that I'm being judged as utterly helpless like this.. when in fact I am of GREAT assistance" A breath "And I am told how I still need to tend to my children even when unseelie... and then.. when I try to.. I'm treated as if I'm not competent. I'm.. angry at you all right now."

"I do not blame you. I am angry that you have been badly used and put in a terrible situation. I am trying to help, though I understand it does not feel that way."

A look at Kerri "is an apology coming anytime soon? For your delivery, not the intent"
