"But it took a long time. I hope it won't take so long for you. Or, at least, that you don't get any bad places...."

A lopsided smile. "Like that, yeah."

He smiles "I hope so too, but this place is such a COOL place to wait. It's got GREEN stuff everywhere, forests and I'm helping with Gardens"

"Yeah? Can you show me what you've done in the garden?"

"Oh yeah, come see" he pulls on her hand once or twice then races off to the garden

Dagmar follows!

Oh and the things he shows! Beans and tomatoes and t here are some flowers

Dagmar is suitably impressed.

She's mostly quiet - asking questions and letting Jack talk.

Jack is proud "See... you got to till the soil and then work with the land.." he rattles on.

An approving rumble.

"And the Chief is so smart, she told me how you ari-orate- the soil... and how some plants grow better. Hey, if you lilke some kind of plant we can see if it's the right type and add it. kay?"

"Yeah? Okay."

"Did you plant potatoes?"

"Yes over..here" He says "They are a root vegatable"

He says that as if quoting someone, which he probably is

"Yeah?" She's okay to let him tell her all about it.

Oh, with an audience he is happy to share his joy "Oh, we don't have Okra. Vali says were are not close enough to hell for Okcra to grow properly....which is fine by me, nasty stuff"

VEHEMENT agreement. That is, a little nod and a grunt. "Yep."

The boy seems perhaps not to speak stoic with precision, but he knows heart felt "I'm also not crazy about Eggplant but I think we have some over there" He makes a face

"It's okay if it's deep fried and covered in cheese and spaghetti."

"Kerri made it that way, once."

"Well, you can have mine" He says "I would just eat the cheese and spaghetti part"

"Nothing wrong with that."

He smiles at Dagmar then ponders, "Okay. Sometime I have to get you to show me the stable and the horses again to be fair. You gave great rides on the Greening, but the stable is your proud happy place like the garden is mine so I got to go back and let you talk about that sometime. It's only fair and nice" he decides "But not tonight as it's almost my bed time and I dont' want to miss my story reading"

"That okay?"

"That's okay, sure. Stormwake might not let you ride him, but I can convince Star to."

"Okay. I'll bring an apple for her" he decides "Long as Snow doesn't take it first. " He gives Dagmar's a hug (or at least her legs) "Thank you, Dagmar"

"No problem. Night, Jack."

"Night" he heads in to get that story

And Dagmar? Dagmar remembers that it's sketti night at her own house!
