"Adorable" She says "And..does the dog have bat wings?"

Siv says "Maybe I can't order you around, but Anne Marie can and she likes me better than you!"

"Yeah, he does."

"Sergei said he was useless."

Nadeen says "Well, Sir Sergei would know, though I suspect he mostly meant for hunting and guarding and such. As a companion animal the odd little creature might be fine. but for who?"

"I don't know. Maybe Connor's friend?"

"..Can mortals see the wings?"

"Mm? No mortals can't. Purely chimerical those. Not sure they even work. The dog hasn't flown yet. Just flapped"

Siv fumes!

"So... bet he'd be a good companion. He's silly."

"So Connor's friend is a mortal?" Nadeen says and then says "Oh, how are hte horses at Earth Runes?"

"She rescued him from the grocery store. It's a whole thing."

"Fine, but ours are better."

"Oh, well, we know she's nice then," Approving , then the Varich smiles a bit "And there's no chance of personal bias influencing that call?"

"Mmmm"

"I'm a Gwydion, how can I lie?"

"A very good point," She raises her coco.

(Never you mind the phone call)

"Thank you." Sip.

Siv hangs up "THe most stubborn man.."

Nadeen says "Well, thank goodness he's the only stubborn troll"

Snort.

Nadeen turns back to the subject of horses. "I wonder if I could get a horse."

"Well, they're expensive. Star is really Chief's..."

Siv says "You keep saying that, but from what I understand mom gave her to you. You earned her."

"But... Chief stables her, and feeds her, and shoes her..."

Nadeen smiles "Aye. Now Stormwake, the Chieftain won proudly."

"She did!"

Siv says "Stables, yes. but you feed her... care for her, tend to her."

Nadeen nods "Sometimes you do more for the horses, directly, than the Chieftain does."

"well, Chief is busy!"

"Point is, Star is yours. " Siv says "And that's good. You earned her. ANd you're going to bring a lot of glory to Rivervale jousting one day."

Nadeen blinks "She will be jousting. Ye gods. I need to place some bets in advance before they see her in action"

"I've not done much real jousting. The car doesn't count."

"Helped Save Vali and me, the hell it doesn't" Siv mutters

Nadeen smiles "Siv, you know what she means." Then she says "You'll get there, Dagmar. That's what practice is for."

"Yeah. Dad is gonna help me build a dummy to beat up."

"Hey, maybe we can make it a real sleepover? Get pillows and everything?"

"Sure..." Siv brightens, "I know where the spare pillows are..."

"I'll pick a movie" Nadeen says

"Great!" And much fuss and movies and popcorn and eventually, sleep.
