"And sometimes it takes time. It's only been, what, 18 months with them?"

"Trust us, Tanya. You've been focused on trying to be a good daughter as long as we known you" Siv brings the hot coco, and enchants a marshmellow then drops it into the drink.

"Roughly. Feels longer, and yet shorter. I .. " Tanya seems unsure, IS unsure. As Nadeen she is so confident at least outwardly. Tanya is a teenage girl and lost.

"A great daughter. They're so proud of you, yeah?"

"Drink, you'll feel better."

"Thanks." Tanya sips, and then... like a moon breaking out from the darkest clouds, her mein starts to gain again. "I... I remember..."

Siv gave up a bit of her glamour, but not much.

Worried-watching.

"You're staying by the fire. I can call the Browns and say you're staying over, okay?"

"Yes, please, there's.. " Tanya, no, Nadeen, stiffens "She was an AUtumn Person IS an autumn person! We have to warn the community."

Siv says "Folks are so worried about how vulnerable I am we forget Arcadians are just as suspect. Dagmar will call the Browns. I'll set out warning to the community." A nod to Dagmar to see if that division of duties works for her

"Right, that's next. But you safe is first."

"I guess ,I.." Nadeen stands again "THe Wayburtons. I haven't seen Zane all day. He could be in danger"

"Okay, Zane is next. We'll find him."

A text "Z - where you at? Safety check"

Zane texts back after a bit

TXT: I'm out of county? bad time. Can't talk about details.

TXT: "r u safe?"

TXT: Yeah. Y? What's wrong?

TXT: Autumn Bitch on the loose.

TXT: Is Nadeen okay?

TXT: Hurt but at fire

Siv peeks over the shoulder, and rolls her eyes at something

"Zane's safe, he's out of town."

"Oh thank the..." Nadeen says then composes herself "Thank you, that's sufficient."

Another roll of the eyes from Siv even as she texts and calls others

TXT: Sure you don't need me there to help?

TXT: ok for now, finish ur thing

TXT: Ok. Gonna warn my folks A person out

TXT: 👍

And he does not respond again.

Siv says "Okay. I called the Thomas. They're confused, but they seem to be complying. ALso got word to Anne Marie."

"Anne Marie will get that phone chain going..."

And now, the Browns... ring ring...

Nadeen holds her out her hands to the balefire as if it were 30 below outside

They pick up, "Hello?" Been awhile since he's heard mr. browns' voice

"Hey! It's Sam. Tanya's over, and we were gonna watch a movie for history class. Would it be okay if she slept over tonight? My parents said she could if you said she could."

"Well, I guess so. As long as SOME Studying is gettting done?"

"Yessir. You ever hear of Glory? Jaymes swears it's really good, I dunno if anything is good enough to write a paper about it..."

"Oh that is a good one. Yes, enjoy"

Nadeen looks curious to see how it goes ,then says loudly "Love you, dad"\

"Thank you, Mr. Brown."

And the call ends

"I need to do something nice for them on Mother and father's day" She says guiltily

"Sure. Maybe cook for them?"

"You know how Laura loves chocolate everything...."

"Yeah, she does. Costs her on the treadmill" Fondly

Siv is making more calls

"I bet Tove could help?"
