Brekke notes Connor's nap-itude and grin slightly. That is a good sign.

"It's turning out there's a lot I don't know, haven't know about him" Kyle admits "He seems less frustrated in some ways, but he's definitely got his own life going on and he is keeping secrets. I'm not sure what those secrets are." A mph "I do know he's about as girl crazy as you can get at that age. I hope Piper is a good influence on him. Dagmar ... fine young lady but I think she's noht ready for the dating life. Adam's a kind boy, but he can be like a bull in a china shop at times when it comes to other people. He's likable and drawws them in, but he's got to be more careful navigating"

And he does craddle the pooped pup down from his shoulders

Brekke nods. "I first thought that Dagmar and Adam would work well together, but perhaps the dating was not such a good development for them. I think it ended as well as it could have."

"Yes... I've talked to him a little. He hopes they can still be friends." Kyle says "Sam.. pardon me, Dagmar, seems a fine young lady. Very dedicated"

"I have not been monitoring closely.... but it might be they -were- good for each other, for as long as they needed to be."

"Dagmar is a knight of House Gwydion. She is devoted to service and fiercely loyal to those who earn her trust."

"And yes, Mountain, that may state it well."

"I think it's that as soon as they began dating, Sam stopped coming around. My son he takes to attention like a flower takes to sunlight. Me? I think Sam wasn't ready and understandably balked"

"And Dagmar is welcome at our house regardless, " Approving "I've learned a lot of each of you, though I'm .. not sure I hear the stories right. I mean, jousting with a car is a bit much... unless it's a metaphor"

"It is not."

"Really? Now this story" he sets the boy down on a couch "I want to hear. Care to tell me while we shore up that path?"

"I wasn't there." Frank clarifies.

"Well, it needs doing anyway" HE nods

Frank nods and shows Kyle where the supplies are; it's not hard for two Giants to carry everything needed in one trip.

And with the Mountain's direction, Kyle rolls up his sleeves and gets to work. For a marketing type, he seems unfazed by physical labor.

Frank works along side him.

And if the Liam's aura distracts or alarms the man, he doesn't let it show.

It's cold, but that doesn't bother either of them.

Nope, they work silently save for occasional instruction

And sooner than one might think, it's done.

He looks it over "mm that should do it, want me to hike here as a routine to make sure?"

"Brekke has a patrol in mind for you, I think."

"That'll do fine" A nod then "I ah, do have one matter that I am reluctant to bring up"

"Yes?"

"There is something in me that is not afraid of a fight, but... I have no arms, nor armor"

Frank nods. "What weapons do you know how to use?"

"Truthfully, I imagine I'll need some training." A nod "But I did some security work once, what's the closest thing to a billy club? "

"A billy club." Evenly. "I tend to carry a tire tapper, which is similar. I work as an over-the-road trucker. I do have a blade, but I generally only carry it in certain circumstances."

"Mmm well, I have some..instincts. Maybe I'm better than I know, but you'd understand I'll feel better if I can defend my family from the hostile chimera in this new world? "

Frank nods. "Don't disregard Adam in that; he's done it before." Frank thinks. "We have a number of skilled woodworkers in the area; they could make a suitable billy club."

"Yes, I noticed your wife's work in the house. Brenda is talking about fixing the house. I love her, but I think HGTV has its hooks into her imagination."

"You'll find the Fae community here supports each other. You'll get help with labor, or materials, if you need it."

"THank you, but I can and will repay. Charity is fine in moderation, but as a father I have to set a good example"

"Not charity; you'll work for others here, and for the good of the Barony. But, as you like."

"mmm well, in that case, I'll serve the barony better with a few lessons in how to defend it, and maybe a weapon on loan"

Frank nods. "Let's head back to the Lodge, we'll get you something. Adam takes lessons with Dagmar for his combat skills. If you like, we could meet as well."

He starts to follow the Mountain towards the lodge "Surely. I'd welcome it. So Adam is getting lessons in swords and such? He probably loves that. "

"I've only observed from a distance, but yes. He seems to."

"Is my son rude to you? Because of the.. ah...Liam thing?"

A few steps go past. "I do not think he trusts me. But he is not rude."

"Mmm" A nod "I'll talk to him if you wish?"

Frank shakes his head. "You are his father; it is your prerogative. But not necessary on my account."

"It's as much on his account too. He may need you one day, and it's not wise for him to block himself from that"

Frank frowns. "I would not turn from him in need for any reason. If he wishes assistance, he will have it."

"I know. I just want to make sure he understands it's okay to approach"

"That would be acceptable."

And they come into the lodge where a slumbering pooka still lays

Frank leads Kyle out to the sparing ring, and spare weapons.

He eyes the selection "Which do you think I should try?"
