"Hang on a moment." Kerri gets up and goes to the kitchen for a few moments.

"Rocks, yes. Chimerical rocks, no."

Adam listens intently.

She comes back with a single cookie -- ginger snap -- and she hands it to Adam. "This cookie was made either by me or Sally Mae or Brogan. Your first challenge is to Whisper it to figure out which one of us made it."

He looks from The cookie, to Kerri, and around the room incredulously.

"Uh."

A shrug. "Desire, intent, bunk. This is very low stakes...no consequence if you can't do it, other than not doing it."

"Just try."

Adam takes it and stares at it. "Uh."

His expression becomes very intent.

Kerri quietly says, "A bunk can be words...or a gesture...some intentional act to shape the glamour...."

"...and when you think you have done it...whisper your question."

"C... is for cookie, that's good enough for me...." he sings softly as he flushes. He keeps singing, though!

"Yeah, good one!"

Kerri nods encouragement.

"Keep going...try to feel if the glamour shifts around you at all...."

Kerri tries to sense it, too.

Glamour does spark and flow... and.. As Adam pushes through the embarrasment...

Adam bounces up and down a bit, a toddler-dance, singing.

Kerri blinks. "There. Now. Ask."

and then he FEELS it.. he knows, no BELIEVES it will work

"And whisper only" Siv advises

Adam's gaze is focused on the only cookie in the world. "Who made you?" A whisper to make Symon proud.

"Crafted by Kiniain hands, tasty treat, Iowan Brand" it informs him

But it does speak!

Adam's eyes grow HUGE.

Kerri appears to have heard that. "Well! I'll call that proof of concept." She nods to him.

"It worked!" But still whispering.

"Exemplary" Jonas says

"It did." Kerri smiles. "Congratulations, Adam. You have used 'magic.'"

Adam also feels a bit drained

"Yay!" She holds up a hand for a high-five.

He's still enchanted, but ...

Adam looks at Sam's high five like he's not sure what to do with it

"Thus endeth the first lesson." Kerri grins at Dagmar as she gets up. "Don't let him exhaust himself." And she heads back into the kitchen to start preparing lunch, humming a bit as she goes.

Siv nods "nice work, Adam"

Adam holds out the cookie, offering it to Kerri's back.

"Eat the cookie." Siv says "Sally Mae does good work"

"Magichas rewards!" She grins.

"You needn't worry, animism beliefs aside, the cookie is neither sentient nor sapient" Jonas assures the mortal

"I can't eat it! I talked to it. It talked to me!!!"

"Well, yeah..."

"But it's still just a cookie."

"it was made to be eaten" Siv says

"I can't eat it...."

He goes to take it to the kitchen "Mrs Davidson...."

"She's busy in there" siv says "here, hand it to me, and I can eat it "

He looks genuinely conflicted. "Maybe we just put it back in the jar?"

"It's going to get eaten by someone. Besides, the Hearth is busy in there right now."
