"You're plenty brave, Dagmar. You're ready to leap to the defense of the helpless" A grin "it's one thing I admire about you, you don't just talk the talk."

Shrug. "I'm afraid of different stuff."

"Well, we all have those. You have some justifiable reasons for your fears. That said," She smiles "Maybe that's why we're a good lodge you know? Sylvi has areas where sh'es really good... and I have soem areas I'm good in, and then you have yours and we have each other's backs... oh, and Gerd too with her magic and goodness Symon and.. you know, we wilders are looking pretty boss"

'Yup. We need a motley name. Official-like. Not just "the wilder crew," y'know?"

"Mmm something to honor Rivervale would be to my liking"

"But Symon might fuss if it's too clean cut you know?"

"Gerd too."

"Gerd's goth lite, but don't tell her" A grin, then a pause "She really is hooked on the tea though. So what name do you think would fit for the motley?"

"Dunno..."

"Mmm wonder what mother would call us? Trouble? "

"Ha!"

"The Ulcer Brigade," A smile "I suppose we need the others here before we get too attached"

"Yeah, I don't like that one."

"It needs to be about us, not about the grumps."

"You're right..something we all have in common.. .the knights of hope, or Wildfires, or Windhammers..well okay, we don't have hammers"

"Well, we'll think on it." She yawns.

"Oh lord look at the time. Glad mom came by. Was worried you'd have to hold that lance all day"

"Night you" She does seem thoughtful, but she gives a geniune smile

"Night Siv"

Siv plops near the balefire, not that she needs the glamour, but she wants to watch it for awhile.

A wave, and Dag heads out for home.

At the stable, Brekke brushes down Stormwake and Star as she waits for Adam to arrive.

"Chieftain!" Sylvi calls out as she approaches, a couple of steps ahead of Adam.

Adam follows, a touch wary.

Brekke looks up at her, then past her to the kinain, and nods. "Thank you, Sylvi. Good morning, Adam."

"Good morning, Chief." Formally polite.

"Need me to stay?" Sylvi asks.

Brekke shakes her head. "No, thank you."

A nod from the younger troll. "I've got chores. Later, Adam." She goes off, but is looking at her phone again as she goes.

Brekke nods towards Stormwake. "Care to assist, Adam?"

"Dagmar tells me you are good with the basics."

"Yes, ma'am." Adam surveys what she's done and what needs doing. "Sam's a good teacher."

Brekke hands him the appropriate brushes. "Good. I am glad. I will need you to be well-prepared before Pennons. I was wondering if you had any questions about the event." She moves over to Star, the more skittish of the two horses, and works on getting the dust out of her coat.

"Sam described it to me. What do you expect of me?"

"Well...You should dress well. Not too fancy, but neatly while still ready for hard work. Sturdy shoes. Dagmar will be wearing a Rivervale tabard. I would like to offer you to wear one as well. It will show affiliation with the Lodge, should any question who you are."

Adam nods slowly as he works. "That.... would be cool."

She glances over at him, and nods. "Good. I am glad you think so. That will also mean, Adam, that your will represent the Lodge. Your behavior will reflect on us. Pennons is a festive event, but there are still some formalities to follow. What do you think some of them may be, based on what you already have learned?"

Adam is quiet as he works. "Probably someone will, you know, announce a start for stuff. And when different stuff happens. Someone is going to be in charge."

"Mm. Yes. Announcements will be made by heralds. Heralds will be told what to announce by others, usually stewards." Brush brush brush.... "What do you know of ranks among the nobility?"

"You have knight, barons.... I know there's a Count.... and a king."

"Yes. There are also Dukes, who are higher than Counts, but lower in rank than Kings and Queens. High King David rules over all." She works at combing out Star's mane. "You have met sidhe. But I do not know if you have seen sidhe in competition for a prize."

Adam shakes his head.

She considers her words before speaking. "Some, like Baron Kealan, employ generous good humor in their competition. Some do not, and are likely to grow irate. And...some will likely employ the power of their natures to impress and intimidate. You may well feel overwhelmed."

"I can handle it."

"Hm. That is good. But...some are bullies. I speak not only of sidhe here, but of all fae. Some are bullies, and some are tricksters, and some are both. Be wary of those who would try to manipulate you into a situation that would do you ill."

"Redcaps and Pookas."

"Well, those are the kiths for which the traits are best known, but they are not the only ones to have those traits." A slight chuckle. "In my youth, Adam, I was called an honorary pooka more than once."

Adam clearly does not believe this.
