"I thought you could tell. Some of the girls can."

"I can tell, when I focus. I think, perhaps, you will understand if the girls may be more focused on you than I am." A hint of amusement, but just a hint.

A shrug. "Sam, maybe."

"I do not mean romantically alone. You are their peer and part of their school community. It is a world I do not tread in often, these days. Now...stay or go as you wish, but I do have patrol."

"Ok. Thanks. I couldn't bring my stick, so.... Thanks again for the Pennons thing."

"My pleasure." She nods, and whistles briefly. Oak bounds up, ready to patrol with her. Adam may note Edie nosing around the gardens with doggy curiosity.

And Brekke and Oak head off on patrol.

Gerd walks out, autumn weather allowing her to wear darker clothes that cover more. Summer can be the enemy of the goth minded.

"Oh, Hey Adam" She says to the older boy.

"Hey." He scuffs the dirt.

"Sup?" She asks

"Nothing. Chief wanted to talk to me. "

"Cool" as if this was most likely a good thing.

"Guess. Anyway, she went on patrol, so...."

"Yeah, she's dedicated. So you patrolling to or what?"

"I couldn't bring my stick so.... not."

"ok" she says (Press SEND)

"You want to fly?" A pause

"Huh???"

"Well, you can't get seen, but I can help you fly" she says

"What? How??"

"Magic, Dork." She smirks "i'm a witch. Well, close enough"

"M'Not a dork.... and you are not!" He protests.

"Stiff as a board light as feather..." She chants... and then slowly rises hovering over, arms spread, her garment flutters in the breeze, "Want me to cackle?"

This from fifteen feet up.

"Woah....."

She swoops around him "Not every one can do this.. not even in our circles. Feel like apologizing for doubting me? Or too proud?"

That stings. "If not even all Fae can do that, why -wouldn't- I doubt you? I mean, sure, I can see you -can- do it, good for you."

"You'd rather stay ground bound than give me a little apology? Wow." She shakes her head.

"You're right. I'm really sorry I made a perfectly sensible assumption about you having a super-rare magical power. My bad."

"Oooo, Sarcasm, that's original" She grins "But I'll let it count. I'll ask again then. Do you want to fly?"

"Nah, thanks anyway. "

"Okay. Your loss... lot of fun" She does an ariel swoop

"Yeah, guess so." He watches, not without interest.

"Zane tells me he told you a little about our arts. This is one of the more powerful versions of Wayfare"

"I think he said Siv used it to jump onto my roof."

"Yup... hopscotch, easiest one and within your power eventually I bet. You're pretty bright."

A shrug. "Haven't learned anything yet."

"You should ask someone to teach you some magic then" She says moving along the tree tops nearby like an extra in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

"Yeah. That doesnt work so well. Not gonna beg, either, so....."

"Who on earth has told you to beg? "She asks

"No one."

"Weird that you'd bring it up that way then," She shrugs "Have you asked anyone to teach you magic yet?"

"Yeah."

"oh. Who did you ask?" She seems geniunely curious "And..did they say yes?"

"Sam. And Zane knows I want to learn. Sam said yes."

"Cool..." She brightens "Hope it comes to you fast. Some arts did for me, others not so much"

A shrug.

She notices the shrug, then shrugs back. If he doesn't want to talk she's not going to make him.

Instead she enjoys flying about, rooftop to trees to send several leaves dropping that hadn't fallen before.
