"I have no idea" She admits "He's with the peace corps in the mortal world." SHe says "So I guess he'll call them let them know he's okay. I don't know if they require him to do anything or what?"

An eyebrow. "The soul of Biblical Jonah...is in the Peace Corp. Interesting. Hm. What is his kith?"

"A troll" She says "he's a troll like us."

"Hm. Interesting. You know that your sister was in the Peace Corps as well, do you?"

"Oh that's right. She was." Realization. "You think they know each other ?"

"I think it is a slim chance, but it is possible."

"Well, anything that will get a smile from sis would be worth risking..." She says

There is a knock at the door.

"Enter," Brekke says after nodding to Siv.

The door opens, and in comes the young man she can only assume must be Jonah/Jonas.

Siv confirms it, "Jonas, this is Chieftain Brekke Shackle-Breaker, Baroness of Rivervale, Storm of the lodge, and my mother"

"Mother, this is.. Jonas. " She says

Brekke stands and nods to the young troll. "Jonas, welcome. I hear you helped Siv. Thank you."

"Siv finished what I initiated, and got the childlings to haven. In comparison, my aid was minute."

"Your point is well taken, but your aid was not minute to me. Her father will also wish to thank you. I offer you the hospitality of the Lodge. However, we must take ship again today, and so will not be able to host you personally."

"That's a great honor ,but I would not wish to be an inconvenience. Is there a way I can assist the lodge? I don't like being idle"

Siv looks at her mother like 'see, not normal'

Brekke seems to think this is not only absolutely normal, but admirable. She nods. "The childlings that were rescued...we have them safe in a home, but they are certain to be restless, and their caretakers may be in need of a break. If you would help by visiting them and helping to watch over them for a time, it would be a great service."

"I'd be happy to facilitate them to their new accommodations " he bows. He's spent time at a noble court?

Siv notices the bow, raising a brow.

Brekke quirks a brow. "Jonas, my apologies...are you titled?"

"No," he says "I am not. I was fostered in a noble hold however. There were expectations and bowing was something they agreed I could master with some expertise."

A slight chuckle at that. "I see. May I know which hold?"

"The Barony of Shadow Waters" he says a bit stiffly, "In White sands. I did not particularly enjoy the fostering, and it was informative in all the wrong ways, but that was years ago."

"Mm. Well...while I do carry the title of Baroness, and this is a Gwydion hold, I think you will discover that we care little for noble court practices. This is a troll Lodge, and you are welcome here. My husband, Siv's father, is Mountain here, and you will likely soon meet our Hearth, Kerri."

"Thank you, Chieftain. I certainly bear no resentment towards House Gwydion, but... " A pause "My apologies, that was arrogant of me, wasn't it? It's not for me to disapprove or approve . Suffice to say that I thank you for your kind welcome and I look forward to meeting them all."

Siv is behind him, and mouthing to her mom 'he's weird'

"I am interested in your opinion, however. Curious, is perhaps the better word."

An eyebrow to Siv, one that says Behave yourself, daughter.

"I was going to say that I certainly bear no resentment twoards House Gwydion, but might enjoy trollish formalities once I learned them sufficiently better. Informality is fine too but I sometimes have, difficulty with the social side of those" An admission , "one of the reasons I keep myself busy. Work, be it intellectual or physical demands what it demands at the time and doesn't judge you for it"

A slight grin. "I understand. Well, your efforts will be welcome here while you stay."

Siv actually blushes a bit and behaves

"Thank you, Chieftain" He says "yes, I do like that." At the troll title. A look to Siv, "Do you have a title?"

"Captain," Siv says raising a brow "Captain Siv Waveborne"

"Pardon, Captain, I knew that but I thought within the lodge I.. " Jonas says.

"no, within the lodge I'm just.. me" Siv says "And I'm good with that."

Brekke raises a brow, but nods. "As I say, however, we will not be able to stay, Our other daughter expects our visit, and Siv....Captain Waveborne will be conveying us there. Please excuse me. I must make ready." A repeat of that eyebrow to

Siv, and she heads upstairs.

Siv shoots her mom a hapless look like it's not HER Fault that Jonas is annoying and weird. But then she relents.

"of course, Chieftain"

Yes, the cruel mother leaves her daughter in charge of hospitality.

Siv turns "So.. do you do anything... for fun?"

"I enjoy documentaries that broaden my mind or sometimes housework?" He answers.

Siv looks at him for a moment "I must be stuttering a bit... look, I'll give you a tour"

And she leads him off.

Sometime later "You didn't have to do that" Siv says.

"What? Picking up some of the litter? that was no trouble" Jonas says as they return.

"No.. i guess" She says "It's just.. we can handle things. "
