The little she devil says "Adam, they tell me you didn't mean to starve me. that you didn't know how I stayed intact"

"Yeah. Uh. No, I didn't. So... so you need..., uh, dreams?"

For some reason, Sylvi blushes rather abruptly, but doesn't say anything, just looks at Nabuni.

Nabuni says "I get glamour two ways... one either..really intense dreams of a particular..type." A faux demure smile, then "And by possessing people and experiencing things they want to do."

More blush.

"And without glamour...she'll die. She was almost dead when you moved in, but you being there revived her, somehow."

Adam starts to glow red. "Uh. Yeah."

"Uh. Maybe we should talk about this somewhere else, Nab. Uh. Home?"

"I can come home?" Nab says eyes hopeful

"Uh, let's talk there. For now."

Sylvi blinks...she had expected this to be more difficult. "Um...so I guess we should let you two...work it out?"

Adam shrugs, looking away.

"We'll try." The little devil hugs Floppsy, "Thanks, Floppsy. See you at the next meeting."

"I don't speak shrug, Adam." Sylvi says, but not too harshly.

"Yeah, ok. See you later."

He pushes away from the car and finds the door lock.

The little devil leaps up and jumps up on his shoulder

"Ride in the passenger seat for now, Nab."

"Adam...did I just piss you off somehow?" Sylvi's genuinely baffled.

"Okay."

"No." To Sylvi.

"Then..." A sigh. "Look, I want to try to be nice to you, but you're making it kind of hard. I know you and Nabuni have a lot to work out, but...I don't know, I'm not sure why I'm getting the cold shoulder here."

Floppsy puts a paw on Sylvi's side "Thank you for coming, Adam."

Adam doesn't meet Sylvi's eyes. "Welcome."

She looks at Flopsy, and stops. A sigh. "Yeah. I'm glad you came. Hope everything works out."

Nabuni says to Adam "So I know you want ..uh boundaries on who and when I can possesses someone"

Sylvi mutters to Flopsy, "Well, I'm getting an ice cream, anyway." And she turns and goes inside the ice cream parlor.

Adam gets in the car and starts it, heading home.

And the she devil and the sullen kinain are gone.

It's a hard and cold place where you can mosey up to the bar and ask for Vanilla, neat. It's not the sort establishment for those scared of Brainfreeze. It dcan get rough and tumble. Okay, maybe it's just an ice cream parlor but there are limits for those under 21, so for now The Frozen Heifer Ice Cream Shoppe will have to do.

And today, Sylvi's going to indulge in a double -- mint chocolate chip AND moosetracks!

"Wow... rough day?" Lucia looks over.

"Hey." She smiles wanly and brings her order over. "Just...you ever wake up right in the middle of a dream and have to deal with stuff immediately? And some of that stuff is somebody who's pulling some passive-aggressive stuff on you? That kind of day."

"In the middle of the dream? Geez o petes no" Lucia says "Not for passive aggresive stuff"

"One time we had a pipe break, but not the same thingn"

Sylvi pokes at her ice cream, trying to get into the mood to enjoy it. "Lucia...do you know Adam? The new kid?"

"Seen him around school, sure. Sometimes aglow, sometimes not. he's..cute..." She says

"Yeah. He's also...well..." A sigh. "I don't know how much I should say. But...okay, I've been kinda short-tempered with him a couple of times, I guess? For good reason, but still. And I'm trying to do the right thing, and he's just, like...rude. It's getting hard to keep wanting to do the right thing."

"The times I've seen him, he's ..well, he acts like he's on the sidelines and hates it. I was confused, because good looking athlete? That's the school stars, at least for the boys. But now I'm catching on."

"Because it's not so much about school..." Sylvi concludes for her, taking a taste of the ice cream. It's good, but it contains only limited quantities of joy today.

"I hear you." Lucia says and dines in her own ice cream, "But.. uhm... Sylvi. hOw'd you end up with this guy as your problem?"

"Well...before now? I guess...I mean, it's Lodge stuff, right? We have to look out for the locals, including kinain, and especially newbies. So I got between him and Dirk on the first day of school when they were about to go at it, and Adam just would not back down even when Dirk was willing to. I think that's when he really got on my bad side. But now...well, there's another issue going on and I don't think I can really talk about it, but somebody came to me to try and help smooth things over between her and him, and that's what I was doing, and I think they're working it out, but...well, like I said, cold shoulder." A smirk. "Maybe he's punishing me." Another spoonful.

"Look, if he doesn't want to talk to you, that's his loss. Espcially after you saved him... but it's good that you helped folks"

"Well, I just hope he doesn't lose too much. And thanks." She has some more. It's tasting a little better.

"Your problem is you're a natural leader. Even when you want out , folks pull you back in. " Pat on the shoulder from the boggan.

FLoppsy whistles innocently

A narrow look at Flopsy. "Yes, some people seem to do that a lot."

Hey... is that Carrot flavored ice cream over there...

A skeptical eyebrow in his direction, but then she gives Lucia a wry smile. "Thanks. It helps to have somebody listen."

Lucia says "Hey, that's what I and others are for. your'e awesome but.. sometimes you have to remember good leaders are still you know, they need folks to talk to. Either for advice, or even just time to be a person first and a leader second. Right? You're mistress of the squad, but I'm still your shopping buddy"
