Siv gets up from her seat and joins the mothers "So ..what are we whispering about?"

Gerd rolls her eyes at Siv and stays where she is

"Did you get brushed?" She pats the side of his neck.

Stormwake enjoys the strokes, he's more open to touch than Lanark was, but seems to be reserved when it comes to heeding people who aren't tested.

"They may." Brekke agrees, then...then Siv joins them, and Brekke raises both eyebrows at the girl for a moment before relenting with a sigh. "Well, it is a matter for all."

"Thought it might be," Siv beams.

Tove eyes Siv, "But you aren't too old to give odd jobs if the Hearth or your mother decide you're being cheeky."

Then she speaks loudly enough to include the others (but not to intrude on the phone conversation), "We are still under threat. This is a minor victory, one that almost demanded a heavy price."

Siv is suddenly more contrite.

"Mmph. It has been sometime since I had you inspect the Kestrel's ropes," Brekke considers.

"Just eating food soaking in the wisdom" Siv says and munches to prove it.

Vali says "yes... i know, I'm a very inconsiderate Damsel. I love you too." and the phone call ends. Then he says "So... increased patrols are a given. And thanks to Olgar, we have a fresh supply of dross , carry abit more of that?"

"Mm. Yes, Siv, replenish your dross." Brekke concurs.

"yes," Siv says "And may I Propose those with heatherbalm carry a bit more than those without? Their skills will be more crucial"

Gerd glances over listening.

Brekke pauses in sipping from her cup, considers Siv...then nods.

Outside, A bit of brushing is under way... it's actually sort of soothing to do

One wilder per side!

Yes, the brushing is being done and done well. "These were the brushes the Chieftain used to use on her warhorse, back in the day. It's a good thing she kept them, huh."

Siv looks pleased her suggestion was approved./Vali smiles a bit but only briefly, "I think this was an information gathering mission at first. It just escalated on them."

Gerd speaks up for the first time "They already learned all they could from Zane and the like... not Zane's fault really I guess. But they know our numbers"

"I want to alert the locals," Kerri says, "but I'm concerned that we don't know if there are other leaks that would get information into the wrong hands."

"So feed false information" Tove says then "I'm not a bard. I can lie "

Brekke sighs at Gerd's comment, nodding, "That is a difficulty."

"It is true, they will not know whose information can be trusted. I am more concerned," Brekke says, "about the scrying."

Stormwake's coat is GORGEOUS in this light... the dark dark gray has a shimmering ripple effect if you know where to look

Sylvi appreciates it. "His coat isn't as black as I thought at first."

Gerd says "uhm... I'm not a scryer like some here... and... you know, and I'm not HIM." Speaking of Vegard obbiously, "But doesn't the Count have a spymaster? Why not put him to work?"

"Yeah. I didn't know she had a warhorse before..." Brush brush. "I'm glad she won. You should see the Liam place, it's cool. And safe now. AND we have Stormwake!"

Brekke frowns. "I dislike not being able to manage our own affairs...but...it is time." She nods. "I will go to Caer Falken."

Vali raises a brow, "I think I know where the brains in my family went."

Gerd smiles at him, then says to The Chieftain "Or just Ask Baron K himself. Teaneck owes you"

"But yeah. Thundercloud grey. Lightning white. OBVIOUSLY he needed to be with Norsemen."

Siv blushes at the term 'teaneck' and sighs a bit

Sylvi laughs. "Well, obvs!"

Mmmmm the horse likes the praise, and when they put it THAT way... yes, tail swish

"Ha! And don't you know you're handsome."

"Oh, he and Lanark totally have to meet."

Brekke considers. "Kealan....perhaps...." A slow nod.

"Need me to go along, Chief" Vali rises, "To give Kealan a full report? I'm well enough now." He walks by and pats her shoulder.

And a bit of glamour, not much, trickles into the chief.

The Chieftain grabs his wrist at that and gives him a LOOK.

"Totally. He can go over the bridge, he's a fae steed... oof. Okay, buddy, time to put you to bed..."

Vali does not flinch nor seem terribly apologetic.

He does whisper "If I've upset you, not my intent, but you're going out after draining yourself. And If i didn't do it, your daughter would and she can't afford to."

Brekke grumbles and releases him. "You make me want to mutter as your grandfather used to, about the impudent young."

"If a lake is in my future, I get it" Vali admits.

"Ooo Can I?" Gerd offers

"Whos' side are you on today?" Vali looks at his neice
