Speaking of feeeeellllsssss... a young Falcon is staring in wonder at the new addition to the lodge. Wide-eyed, awed, amazed - besotted, even.

Brekke has taken off Stormwake's tack and is brushing him down. She looks over at Dagmar, and offers out the brush. "Would you like to learn how?"

Her answer bursts out, enthusiasm not able to be corralled. "YES!"

And then she blushes. "Um. I mean, okay."

A slight huff of a chuckle. "Stormwake, this is Dagmar ap Gwydion. Dagmar, Stormwake will be part of Rivervale now." She demonstrates how to brush and then hands the brush over to Dagmar. "Not too firm to hurt, not too light to tickle."

Thanks to DeBukes and time at the Ranch, Dagmar has a bit more training perhaps than one would expect

A serious nod, and Dagmar brushes with the exaggerated care of a novice.

"Did Vali catch you up on things? The nocker?"

Brekke watches her and offers tips now and then, and keeps an eye on Stormwake's response.

A frown. "I heard only some. Tell me."

"So, this guy had his car break down - he had Bix helping him, when I came up on patrol, right?"

"Siv, I think, told you most of that - the weird lies and all."

"Mm, yes. But there has been more since."

"Careful here," she instructs as Dagmar brushes a spot that can be sensitive on a horse.

"Yeah. Turns out, the guy pulled the same trick on Zane and Nadeen, broke down car and all..." Careful! Possibly erring in too light a brushing.

Stormwake gives a look like 'why did that stop?"

That gets a deep frown. 'I see. So there is no mistaking it. He is a threat. When and where was he seen last?"

Brekke notes Stormwake's response, and says, "Careful, but not that careful."

"Day before yesterday. Yesterday, he said he was going to a car show. Far as I know, he was being honest about that."

"Well, anyhow - Zane's beating himself up because he talked about the hold. And Jimmy... " She tries the tricky spot again.

"What about Jimmy?"

"Jimmy has sticky fingers, yeah?"

Brush-a brush-a brush-a. "Well, Jimmy lifted a library card from Francis. And the card, like, jingled like keys and had the harp on it, but just chimerically."

"It bore the House symbol?" Her eyes narrow. "I wonder why it would jingle. Is it a set of keys disguised, or does it merely function as a key, or something else? Where is this card now?"

"I gave it to Klump to hide. He buried it deep, so scrying on it should show only dirt."

"Mm. Good thinking. Klump is a good friend to have. I think I would have liked to whisper that card before it was hidden...but perhaps it is best that it be out of reach of us for now. We know the nocker, and he can be found and questioned. I will have the Hearth send out word to keep on watch."

"You are doing a fine job, there," she nods at the brushing.

Indeed, Stormwake gives little signs that he enjoys some of this brushing

"..Thanks..."

"And it seems Stormwake approves." A sigh, and she pats the animal's shoulder. "I had not thought to have another fae steed, not after losing Thunder."

"You had a fae steed before?"

"I heard they're as smart as people..."

She nods slowly. "Many years back, when I was still a wilder. He fell in battle." Clearly an understatement.

"And yes, they are very intelligent. That is why I asked Stormwake's permission before taking him from the Daireann. I would not have stolen him from a rider he cared for."

a head nod and nicker of approval at such manners

"That's... that seems good, yeah."

"Honorable." As if noting it for the future.

"Of course...we must manage the neighboring mortals, who may not approve of his presence."

A pause. "You think I could ride him, sometime?"

"Oh, c'mon, he's less annoying than that yappy dog on Walnut."

in the distance....

'yapapapayayyapapayap'

A blink, and she looks at the younger troll. "I think...I would not say no, but it is in part Stormwake's decision. If he does not wish it, you will find yourself on the ground quickly."

A slight chuckle at the yappy dog. "The dog feels he has a duty. I am not going to argue with him."

"Yeah yeah, except it is SUMMER so I want to sleep in..."

"I've ridden Blueberry twice, and I rode at Chattanooga. So that's three times."

"Three times. Well." A nod...and a stifled grin? "What do you think, Stormwake?"

Stormwake looks at Dagmar at the talk of 'riding', a dubious look in his equine expression.

She sucks on her lower lip, jaw setting a bit. "Nevermind." Sullen.

Then he brings his face down, and sniffs just a bit, not like a dog, but definitely getting her scent
