"Oh, yeah...was he telling the truth about his name, Dagmar?"

"I wasn't there when you met him."

"I was the one who said his name was Fran to her I think"

Bix says "So if I toled the truth of a lie I was told..." He sighs

"He.. yeah, you're right. he never told me his name."

"Did you offer him a drink?" Siv says

Sam nods. "Lemonade."

"Huh?"

"What's a drink got to do with it?"

"Because" Siv says picking up her pace, "If the cup hasn't been washed yet, it has some of his saliva on it perhaps, or even a very casual tie. Once a part, always a part me father says. Now, show me the glass. I'll handle that."

"Oh! The paper? With his number?"

"Ohhh... let me text Tove, she may have done dishes."

"He touched it...maybe that would help, too?"

Tappity-tap.

and the message comes back that she hasn't yet, but she'll do it now thanks for reminding her

TAPPITY TAP

"Good idea, Sylvi. Bix? Sorry to do this but... the paper please?"

Bix hands it over

Siv looks at it then..holds it up, "That's..interesting."

"There's no glamour on it...?" Sylvi says doubtfully.

"I'm not talking about glamour... I'm talking bout the water mark" SHe holds it up "It's an awfully specific pattern"

"That would make it easy to scry it if it's distinctive" Bix says then scowls "I've been played like a bimbo"

"Hunh?" Dag looks.

"Sorry, Bix." Sylvi gives him a sympathetic look.

"I think...maybe not all of it was a lie, but enough of it was."

"Like a bimbo? Why would you..." Siv looks confused

Sylvi gives Siv a look, hoping she'll catch on without having to have it explained.

"So maybe we shouldn't let this into the hold? Tove hasn't washed the dishes yet, se we have his glass."

Siv blinks "oh. OH.." she coughss then says "Good idea, Dagmar. I'll take it from here. Glass and paper. I'm on it"

"Yeah...looks like he wanted to get eyes inside the Lodge."

"Why, though?"

"I have a few ideas on that" SIv says

"You know something about him we don't?"

"But I'm not at liberty right now." She goes on "Let's just say that I'll be taking over the investigation and have authority to do so." She looks at Dagmar "Dags can confirm I'm honest."

And yeah... that.. was true. At least, Siv believes she does. Siv just pulled rank? Well, invoked someone else's rank which is better but still

"Um. I think we still should tell the Chief."

Sylvi frowns, but nods slowly. "Siv...will you tell the Chief?" A glance to Dagmar for her Gwydion-fu.

"I'll tell her" She nods "Though I will do so quite carefully"

A blink. "Oh-kayyy."

Siv says in a lower voice "I'm not doing this for the glory girls, but honest? I do hope to impress mum and da a bit"

A bit of a grin at that, and Sylvi is satisfied.

"Okay..."

"Well, let's go to my house and get the glass?"

"Right " Siv says "Bix, for now just act dissapointed. Sylvi? Keep an ear out for gossip about strangers. " And Siv then pauses "Please" Mannerly

"I won't be faking it at least" Bix says with a sigh and nods

"You got it. Tell you what...you do that, I'm going to pick up patrol. This has me antsy. I'll check in later." She gives the others a wave and jogs off.

"Seeya Sylvi."

Patrol taken care of, Bix heads to study...and Siv goes with Dagmar.

Back to the Barn.

"Thanks for trusting me on this" SIv says "I Know it's..well, odd."
