"Oh hell, the company would be worth it," Fran says

"Hackensack? Huh." A glance at Dagmar. "Could be fun. I don't have many plans today. How much are the tickets?"

"Um.."

"Oh it's tomorrow, 60 bucks"

"Oof. Wow. That's a lot more than I thought."

"oh I can't take that much money from you" Bix says alarmed

"I got the money" He assures "But I can't pay for all of you, sorry"

"How often do they have these shows?" Sylvi says, brightly curious.

"Not sure" He admits "I figured you guys would know better than me. you all being locals and all"

"Yeah, but I guess I just haven't thought much about muscle cars before. Just...well, summer. Looking for stuff to do."

"That's a damned expensive show..."

"It is, but you get to put your hands on the car, talk to the dealers and folks who refurbish, and there's a lottery at the end of it.... every ticket gets its number entered in a raffle"

"You could win a MUSCLE car?" Bix 's mouth almost waters

"Wow. Yeah, I can see that, now."

"Yup. So tomorrow, you and I go for it" He grins at Bix

"That does sound pretty cool. You go to a lot of shows?"

Bix nods "OH you know just this once..."

"Oh sure, I travel a lot, just wherever the whim takes me."

"Uh, Bix...don't you have Lodge duty tomorrow?"

A little twitch, corner of her eye.

"Yeah? Must be nice, being free. Where's next?"

Sylvi spots that twitch, and her smile slips.

"Shoot.. oh no." Bix says "I mean, yes but darn it"

"Sorry, Bix." Fran says "Hey, if I win the raffle I'll definitely drive it by."

"And next? Oh not sure, maybe head back south" True

"Where south? Like, Florida?"

"Drive by and wave at us carless suckers. Oh yeah."

She laughs at Dagmar. "We'll hitch a ride with the madwoman and dragrace him."

A snerk. "Shit yeah."

"Misssippi" he says

"Oh. Never been." She glances at Dagmar.

"Well, like I said I travel, and yeah, it's nice" Francis says

"I've barely been out of Jersey. So ain't never been to Mississippi. This seems a long way from there."

Then beams at Fran. "Cool. Ever been to Alaska? So beautiful."

"O.. well that no I have not seen" true

"Lucky" Bix says "Wanted to visit alaska myself"

"You should, when you can. Really, crazy beautiful."

When Bix looks away, Sylvi shoots a frown at Dagmar.

"I want to go to Alaska. And California. And Florida. All over."

"Well, a lot easier now that you're sained, right?"

"Oh you just got sained? THat's good, shows Growth. Just how many folks at your hold anyway?" Fran inquires

"True. Trods!"

"Oh, lots and lots."

"Geez, I haven't even counted recently. Seems we keep getting more all the time, what with fosters and trainees and folks moving in nearby."

"Well shoot, no wonder they probably feel safe"

"Exactly."

"So...where's this car?" As they're getting close to the school.

"Right there" He gestures to the refurbished vehicle "Now that I've got the wingnut, I can fix her."
