She looks skeptical, and would probably be tapping her foot if they were on land.

Then a carefully-toned "Thank you for clearing the Lake trod, Dad."

"Look, I had to recast the silver on the trod below, if you went down there you'd see a squad of carnivorous fishmen chimera" Olgar says

"You're welcome" he says

"A...squad of them?" Her tone loses some of the ire and she looks down at the water.

Other chimerical chunks can be seen below. And her father has a wound? Oh.

Olgar says "Look.. I.. Colton? Can my daughter and I have a sec?"

Colton nods and backs up a bit.

"Dad...you're hurt...." Sylvi frowns.

Olgar then says "Sylvi, I know I think you're too young for somethings. I know you're still going to make your own choices, but just because I think honor is a lie, doesn't mean I'm gonna lie to you. I couldn't set this up if I tried...and wouldn't, because it would put you in physical danger in the name of trying to protect you from other stuff.. okay? You got a birthday coming up, you got a life ahead of you... but as much as I DO want to protect you...I'm not trying to control you. Okay? Your mom... well, she had a sit down with me about that a while back. Honest."

She's back to wanting to die again. I mean, who wants to have a heart-to-heart with your father when you're trying to impress your boyfriend and your friends and in the middle of a lake, no less. She sighs, "I know, Dad. Sorry. I just...you kind of freaked me out."

"Understood.. look, I'm going down below to clean up... if anyone asks, just tell them a drunk got into the water but he left or whatever okay? We'll talk when you get home. And... " A glance back to Colton, "He didn't mean to backslide... can't believe I'm saying this, but his little patriarchial influenced heart was in the right place even if I don't trust OTHER parts of his anatomy."

"No...I know...he was being all knightly and stuff. I get it. And...thanks, Daddy." She gives him a grin...but she doesn't offer to hug him. Nope, no way, not while she's wearing this thing. That would just be way too weird.

Before he goes, she asks, "How long has there been a trod in the bottom of the lake?"

"Years, but it hasn't needed resilvered in some time." and "You're welcome, Rugmonster"

"Huh." She looks down at the water again. "Maybe you could tell me more about it at home tonight?"

She's so curious, she doesn't seem to have noticed the nickname.

"Will do. Love you." He takes a deep breath, and submerges...

and gone.

A little half-grin as he vanishes, then she turns and swims back over to Colton. "Well, that's a thing that happened," she says lamely.

"Yeah, mood killer huh?" He says

"Seriously." She gives an apologetic shrug. "Come on...let's go back."
