Colton says "Take it from a squire, I've met worse candidates for hte title than you, Dagmar. You have certain values they lack."

Frank murmurs to Jaymes.

Jaymes mumurs back

"Dunno..." A frown. "I mean, you've been a squire how long?"

Frank nods.

"Couple of years now, but that's kind of my point. I've seen some who have been knights for like a decade and they abuse the title. It's not always how long you have it, it's how you use it."

"True." Sir Frank confirms.

She touches the tabard again, nodding. "So I gotta figure out how to use it?"

Sylvi listens, a little thoughtful frown.

"You have an excellent example in the Chieftess."

"I would say some lessons from Sir Frank and Sir Vali, and most of all Baroness Brekke would be useful... some Houses have different expectations of their knights. For example, Gwydions expect their knights to fight." The squire says

Brekke clears her throat, only slightly uncomfortable. She nods. "I can help you understand the house...and understand what it is to be a troll in the house."

"Because it's... mostly sidhe, right? This... this is gonna change what's expected of me around here, isn't it?"

"Mm." Brekke makes a somewhat neutral sound. "It may or may not. Saining alone already did that, however."

"However...I think that is a conversation for tomorrow, and days after tomorrow."

"We do get some cool wardrobe choices" Vali remarks "Spurs, fancy feathers in our helms... I myself love the capes..."

"Well, yeah. It did. I wanted to be a thane. Can knights be thanes?"

An eyebrow at Vali.

Frank gives Vali a look.

"I do not believe it would be a conflict for me, or for Rivervale. Count Hemlock may have a different opinion...but we often live dual roles."

"It is our nature to." Frank agrees.

"I want to be here." Stubbornly.

"Well, you are here." Frank points out. "And will have to be fore some time to come. Years."

Nadeen does not say anything but she is watching

An eyebrow. "I do not see anybody forcing you to leave."

"But I have an oath already, I remember it now.. remember making it..."

Sylvi bites her lip and looks from Dagmar to Nadeen, but she doesn't say anything.

Brekke nods, and also looks to Nadeen.

"Her oath is to my father...and another to me," Nadeen says "I know that much. Even if how she became Gwydion is unknown to me"

Her brow furrows. "During the Accordance war..."

"I... there was... he surrendered, but then they were going to kill him..."

"Whatever house you are part of, you're my subject" The young Varich says "And one day I will have to leave Rivervale, and I would take my vassal with me"

Jaymes ' eyes darken a bit

Brekke's expression doesn't change. She continues to look at Nadeen as she asks Dagmar, "What is the nature of the oath to her father, Dagmar?"

"It wasn't fealty." She frowns. "But... to protect her, yes. Until she is Sained, at the least, when she may release me... or... may not."

"And in turn, I may command her if it is to keep her from danger."

"That's... that's why... at the dance?"

"Yes, the dance" Nadeen sighs

Gonzalez looks away

She points. "NOT your fault! Nobody got hurt!"

"All is well, Lupita," Brekke reassures Gonzalez. Then a look back to Dagmar. "Then you have until her saining to figure out how the two of you will resolve this."

"I ..have an idea" A rumble

Her jaw juts out but her shoulders droop beneath the armor. "Yeah."

And exactly how a man made of rock like Klump 'slipped in' is unsure.

Brekke blinks, surprised...which doesn't happen often with people in her Lodge. "Klump. Yes...your thoughts?"

A smile for Klump, even if it is strained at the corners by worry.

"We have a namer here... and if both agree , I am sure she can adapt the oaths or help them along, if all are willing." The big man looks to Nadeen "You are Varich. You know the Slow empires better than most of the Sidhe Houses. At one time, I served them but that oath faded. I would serve again, if you release Dagmar ... I will take her place for you, and should he return, for your father." Klump says "It is my sain day gift to her, and the lodge. You must only give your word that you never allow me to be turned against the land, or Dagmar"

Her amber eyes grow wide and she shakes her head.

Normally stoic Frank looks surprised.

Brekke looks outright astounded. "Klump...that is a fearsome offer."
