"Dagmar, stop. Please!" Sylvi steps up. "Mrs. McGillicuddy, sorry, we just..." She pauses. "Nothing...it's nothing. Just, we're in a bad mood. But that's not your fault. Do you need something?"

"Yes. I'm having an episode... you know, this make believe world I end up in is aggrivating.. and with that thing in my cellar, well ,I can see it now. It's unnerving"

"There's a thing in your cellar?"

"Yes, don't you overgrown smurfs sense that sort of thing? There's a monster in my cellar"

Nadeen looks down at herself "Smurf?"

"Get over it, elfy, i've got problems" The old woman waves her cane

GLARE.

Colton whispers "Uhm.. should we look in on this?"

A frown. "Look...Mrs. McGillicuddy, we're here to help, but you're being rude to us, and that doesn't get things done any faster." Then she nods to Colton. "Come on. Dagmar, do you want to go back to the Lodge, or come with?"

"Fine just.. look into this will you? "

"Yes, Ma'am." Sylvi says with clipped civility, and she leads the way into the house.

"Uh..." A frown, uncertain. She looks at Sylvi and Nadeen.

Nadeen says "Up to you, but it could be more than it seems?"

A glance back, and an encouraging nod to Dagmar.

She grunts, but follows the others to the house.

They are lead to a cellar door , which has a sound like flutter bump... the door is blocked by a broom

"You handle this... wouldn't even be seeing the horrid thing if it weren't for that brownie. Need to stop accepting food-damn my sweet tooth"

The old woman heads away leaving them to the cellar entry

Sylvi frowns. "That sounds like...like a bird....?"

"Smells like..cheese? I guess it's a cheese cellar?" Nadeen sniffs

"Dagmar, you want to open it when I grab the broom or the other way around?"

But the woman is gone, and Sylvi looks to the others and shrugs. "Let's try to stun it, not kill it, at first."

"How about I open it? Dagmar's got to have her hands free for her weapon."

A look towards Dagmar from Colton "You ready?"

Sylvi gets ready to open the door.

Dagmar nods, holding Flyswatter ready.

Colton yanks the broom

Sylvi opens the door

There's a blood curdling shriek sound and...

"It's... a bat?"

A foot long chimerical rat with bat wings bares teeth at them

Colton has to fight the urge to swat it with a broom

"Oh!" Sylvi looks at it. "Hang on!"

"That's revolting" Nadeen wrinkles her nose

"Hi. Are you doing any harm down there?"

"Harm to cheese. My cheese"

It squeeks and is near a half chewed wheel of cheese

"Oh. Um...well, I don't think Mrs. M is going to want that anymore. If we help you get it out of the house and put it somewhere kind of safe, will you stay out of this basement?"

"If there is cheese, yes. I like cheese"

It is calming though
